Come on fellow Obama supporters: BE RESPECTFUL
I know we are happy that the tide has turned in our candidates favor, but we do not need to stoop down in the mud. I know, I know, I know, Clinton and to a much lesser extent Edwards supporters have fought dirty at times on these boards...but so have we. Let's be respectful of others and their candidates. We should extend branches of friendship not payback. Just a thought. Let's also not push the inevitable BS remember how annoying that was for the last year from the Hillary supporters.

Embrace it! I love your sloganeering. Whats tomorrow's new phrase? I so enjoyed, "riding the wave" today.

Why talk specifics and look at distasteful issues like lobbyists, when you can avoid all that?

20. Metamucil is "viscous"
which means "thick"...Edwards voters (myself included) try to avoid both spelling and definition errors.....

21. You overlook "errors" in voting for wars though, You overlook "errors" in voting for the
Patriot Act, You overlook errors in voting for H1-B visas, You overlook the error (for the candidate that is for the middle class) voting FOR the Bankruptcy Bill, You overlook the error that he voted for free trade with China, You overlook the fact that not only did he vote for the IWR, but he CO SPONSORED IT! But boy or boy, let there be a misspelling from a fellow DU poster, and you just have to jump right on that now don't you? A little hypocritical I would say. I guess you have nothing else to be high handed about now don't you? Your candidate's record while doing 1 short term (spending half of it campaigning for himself) is dismal - to downright embarrassing.

About the metamucil, supposedly a great product, maybe taking a little more of it wouldn't hurt you and might just clear up your thinking. You know the saying...."Shit for brains?"

In one reply for pointing out a spelling error??? I think it is obvious who's veneer of civility isn't thick enough to hide the ugliness beneath.

32. Ugliness is taking the time to post for a SPELLING error and then supporting
a candidate that has a Senate history of ERRORS! Get real, I'm sick of people like you NOT THINKING and personally attacking fellow posters for stating adverse opinions on your candidate.

YOU brought up the metamucil........deal with the ramifications of getting (hypocritically) on your high horse and personally "attacking" or "correcting" a fellow DU poster, and not sticking to the issues with your ERROR BY ACTION FILLED candidate.

3. I agree with you except for one point:
"Let's also not push the inevitable BS remember how annoying that was for the last year from the Hillary supporters."

I'm not sure that helps the central theme of your message any. Other than that, I'm behind you 110%.

11. Nice message, but it's about 48 hours too late..........
A lot of Sen. Obama's supporters sprinted past "obnoxious" and toward "unnecessarily vicious" on Saturday. But, I guess you gotta keep kicking 'em when they're down.

Luckily, I hate the repukes FAR more than I am annoyed by the happy purveyors of HOPE!

12. Well the Michigan primary is coming up. I could vote uncommitted but after what
I have witnessed on this board this evening I'll be damned if I'll sign on to that. I'll vote for Hillary Clinton as she is the only candidate who had the nerve to leave her name on the ballot for me to vote for.

And everyone who has written every shitty, cutesy, wanna be comedic word on this board tonight about this first female presidential candidate can fault themselves and bite me.

Your post is reasonable but the rest of this board is feeding on its own entrails and can't even see it.

So thanks those of you who have enjoyed your favorite shit on a Dem candidate tonight. I was undecided but not no more.

Well done, the republicans will love this level of crass and crude "discussion".

19. I don't know what IN PARTICULAR is being critiqued here -- examples?
A few concrete examples of unfair rhetoric from Obama supporters (or supposed Obama supporters -- you can never know in a forum like this) would really help.

As they say -- one man's Mede is another man's Persian.

I say this as an Obama supporter. I certainly do not want the Obama campaign identified with improper tactics or bogus arguments, even if they are in support of the candidate that I like.

Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 12:37 PM by DivorcingNeo
I have a blog and I never slammed any of the Presidential candidates on it (in the past) but did have a couple of discussions about Barack and Michelle Obama, however after Cocaine-gate and discovering the racist and vile comments on this message board, I really started to detest some of the Democratic party and that includes what Hillary Clinton's candidacy stands for. I'm just ready to end the Bush-Clinton era and move on.

However I will respect those who are deserving of respect. Respect, in my opinion, is earned. It is not a right.

Anyway, kudos to you for trying to bring civility to this forum. There's always hope.

29. If I'm not mistaken it's against DU rules to call out DUers by name.
And I find it particularly distatesful since you make accusations against them without posting a single link to any comment by them to back it up.

27. I am deeply against a Clinton Presidency
Obviously it would be better than any Republican, but I oppose the direction they want to take the party and the country. Their attacks on Obama for being too liberal says it all. I will fight that.

And if people think it's been bad so far - LOOK OUT. The beep beep beep of the dump truck is headed your way.
