I support Obama, but mostly because I want a president who is not a white man and believe Obama represents a new era for the Democratic Party. Nonetheless, the way DUers are playing up Hillary's tearing up is not only sexist, it's sadistic. While I expect Republicans to be loathsome, a lot of liberals are acting just as bad. Consider what the fascist Manchester, NH Union Leader did to presidential candidate Edmund Muskie in 1972:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edmund_Muskie#Electoral_history

The paper published an attack on the character of Muskie's wife Jane, reporting that she drank and used off-color language during the campaign. Muskie made an emotional defense of his wife in a speech outside the newspaper's offices during a snowstorm. Though Muskie later stated that what had appeared to the press as tears were actually melted snowflakes, the press reports that Muskie broke down and cried shattered the candidate's image as calm and reasoned.

2. I'm an Edwards guy and I basically agree with you.
I watched the YouTube segment and saw absolutely nothing wrong with her demeanor. If I were to fault anything, it might be her artful adopting of Edwards' "This is personal" tagline (as someone around here pointed out).

3. She managed to sandwich in an attack on Obama and that renders her sincerity suspect.
And the reaction to this has nothing to do with sexism.

It has to do with honesty and choosing it first rather than waiting to try it out as one of the few moves left for her.

5. Where? I didn't see any attack.
Let it go. Really, the woman got a bit misty eyed and it's like she pulled a Jimmy Swaggart.

7. Personally, after being here for about seven years, I think
there is an unusually large amount of "agent provacatour" in evidence. It doesn't surprise me after the politics of Rove, it just surprises me that so many are willing to accept what they read here at face value.

8. Because they arent liberals
Many of Obama's supporters are hateful animals, at least the ones on the DU who arent stealth freepers.
