4. LOL....I gotta tell you....
Sadly, often the best part of my day is perusing through seemingly inocuous threads (I'm trying to stay away from flaming threads), and seeing a short response like this that just CRACKS ME UP.

Call me crazy, but DUers are some of the funniest people I've ever encountered. Witty, sharp, and I'm oh-so-very-grateful.

:hi:

8. Don't you find that a little...unsettling? What is she crying about?
The way some people are slipping into cult-like behavior is disquieting. Obama gives a nice speech. But too many people are pouring their personal hopes and dreams into this vague promise of change. Have we been that traumatized by these last 7 years?

I think I've had an epiphany.

9. What I find unsettling is the number of people who think that doing the
same old thing while screaming will get them something different. We've been doing the same political dance now for most of my life, and it is time to throw the sheet music away. I am tired of feeling that my neighbor must be my enemy and that the only hope for the world is to keep the same clique of people in DC who do not really value our opinions and give them lip service only to get votes. I want a new way of getting things done.

10. Yeah, we've been that traumatized. As Skidmore said above, it's time for a new approach.
The old establishment has been running things forever. We rotate our leaders, but the underlying power never changes.

Get rid of all the old faces. All of them.

14. There were many people in tears at the Obama rally last night.
He's a brilliant speaker. Even Mr. Bunnies was tearing up at one point.

15. I know a lot of really good preachers who can make people cry, too.
I cried the first time I listened to MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech, too.

But that doesn't mean Obama is MLK reincarnate.
