MD POLL: Obama beats McCain. Hillary doesn't.
Maryland 2008 Presidential Election
Maryland: Obama 48% McCain 42%
Tuesday, January 08, 2008

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely Maryland voters shows Senator Barack Obama leading John McCain 48% to 42%. However, McCain has a slight edge over Hillary Clinton, 45% to 43%.

Both Democrats have huge leads over Mitt Romney. Obama leads Romney 55% to 34% and Clinton leads him 52% to 39%.

In October, Clinton held a seven point lead over McCain. In a solidly Democratic state, McCain is polling well for a Republican. He is viewed favorably by 69%. Obama is viewed favorably by 63% of voters.

In both presidential match-ups, Obama fares better among women than men. Against Romney, Obama earns the vote from 60% of women and 49% of men.

1. What about the guy who came in ahead of Clinton?
Rather glaring omission there.

5. Because Pollsters And The MSM Don't See Him As The Eventual Nominee
That's an empirical observation and not a normative one..

6. There's no story. He's not a front-runner. He hasn't fallen from front-runner.
Might as well ask 'why not Bill Richardson'.

I'm noticing an interesting, and distressing line of thinking in all these Edwards supporters demands for coverage for him. Would they demand the same if Obama or Hillary were in Edwards' position?

Or is something else going on here, beneath the surface?

3. I can't see a Republican winning Maryland
Regardless of who the nominee is, Maryland is a safe state.
