2. DU readers represent a tiny fraction of the voting public
Those who post represent a tiny fraction of DU readers.

Otherwise, Kucinich would be very strongly ahead of all the other Democratic candidates. :toast:

19. True but consider the possibility
that some people who work for the candidates probably come here to feel the pulse of the base, and that may well have *some* impact on their campaign if they take action on what they read.

Granted, our leaders largely ignore us (otherwise we'd see them standing up to the republicans more) but I think we have SOME impact (as we're a microcosm of the larger progressive community).

As far as influencing voters, that's probably a lesser impact but you never know. Words spread today like they never could before as more and more people are online, using email, etc. I know that's not a novel concept but it's easy to lose sight of the fact that this *does* have an impact. I mean hey, if you hear a good argument for or against a candidate you share it, right? Either verbally or by sending a link, etc?

Then that person you told tells another person and so on. We'd likely be shocked to see just how far our words can go these days.

3. Even less than none because some posters were so busy typing that they forget to vote.

9. You've shown more sour grapes than anyone else I know on this forum.
Otherwise, why do you always complain about everything that other people post?

You don't sound very clear on the definition of "sour grapes."

10. I wasn't giving myself credit for anything
Sarcasm regarding the claim was what I was expressing.

I think it's really freakin funny.

8. You'll be amazed at how many people have never heard of DU
or even the better known DailyKos.

We are political junkies while most people have a better balanced life.

12. I wouldn't say it's better balanced.
I'd say it's easier. I'd say it's more peaceful. I'd say it's less stressful. But I wouldn't call it "balanced".

13. DU's activists and networks historically have made impact on issues
as far as the Iowa and NH voting goes a proportion of the voters are aware of some of those issues taken up by DU's activists that got national and international attention.

Maybe a little bit.

I'm in awe of the time and effort put in by the volunteers I've met this primary.
 to the real activists!
