"Last throes of Clintonism." Interesting view of last WINNING Democrat at "Democratic Underground"
I think there is a weird masochistic streak among some Democrats where winning = losing and losing = winning. I know it's a trait of a lot of college age kids (band gets famous, band is sellout). I don't get the hate for our last winning two term president who was hated by RePUKES more than any other liberal in American history.

:wtf:

21. I thought he was just being a jerk--Bush's lies killed hundreds of thousands and impoverished us.
Americans are afraid of Bush. they did not fear Clinton.

32. I think Bush might make people fear Clinton more.
This is just speculation on my part. But for me... Im much more weary of liars than I used to be. Even though I thought the whole impeachment was bullshit.

forerunners or maybe Lassie or Father Knows Best. No racial problems because we don't see them on the reruns. Happy Mommas who are there to bandaid the boo boos, loyal dogs, Dads who come home at night and read the paper. No problem putting the food on the family. No atom bomb ever spoken about. Cold War horrors? didn't exist in the tv feature world.

The independents fell for it in 2001 (Gore was telling people that they were getting screwed and the independents did not want to hear it) and clung to it 2004

It explains to me the vicious attacks on those who would burst the balloon with facts. People get angry when someone tells them that it is going to be tough. But it is.

10. You mean, who was the last Dem President to have had
a special prosecutor sicced on him, who -- after seven years and with an unlimited budget -- couldn't find anything more to charge him with than obfuscating about adulterous sex?

however, if someone wants to spam the board with, "WHO WAS THE LAST DEM TO WIN A PRESIDENTIAL CONTEST" it's only fair to point out the obvious.

14. Clinton had had no reason to think that his sex life would ever become an issue
since the press and the other side had ignored extra-marital activities in every other President who had ever had them -- which is the vast majority of Presidents.

Just the fact that their whole argument was based on the idea that Nobel prize winning Al Gore was the same as George Bush.

right track.

This time we have to figure out how to prevent the train wreck.

7. Actually, the famous = sellout bit is kinda dated. Very 20th Century.
Most up-and-coming bands now would KILL to get their songs in a Volkswagen commercial, rather than kill to prevent it.

15. He got the most votes but he didn't win. We'll never know what would have
happened if he had immediately demanded a FULL recount (not the partial that he requested), or if he didn't finally concede when he did.
