Times, they are a' changin: Thank you, "Blue Hampshire"!

New Hampshire turning 'blue'

Exeter, N.H. - The Republican Party in New England's only "red state" may be going the way of the Old Man of the Mountain, the craggy icon of independence that crumbled a few years back in a rock slide.

In the last election, Democrats took both seats in Congress for the first time in nearly a century and both houses of the legislature for the first time since 1874. Democratic Gov. John Lynch won a second term with a record 74 percent of the vote, and lawmakers recently authorized same-sex civil unions and a smoking ban in bars and restaurants.

A big hug for all New Hampshire Dems, and Indys leaning blue!

2. Hopefully, that will change in good time, too.
With the way the tides are turning, perhaps it will be sooner than later.

*Fingers crossed.*

7. Sure did!
And there was a line for new people registering like you wouldnt believe. I watched them file through... as Mr. bunnies was in the new voters line. I was in and out but had to wait for him. 34 years old and hes never voted. It took me 8 years but I changed all that though. :bounce:

While we were there... every new voter looked to be our age or younger. Amazing. What an incredible sight to see in a primary. :bounce:

8. Oh, that is so good to hear.
I think we had a pretty good turnout in 2004, but not nearly enough. I think the last four years have woken people up, and given them a more realistic view of the price of apathy. I am hearing stories like this from all over. Huge turnout everywhere - lots of young people, Dems, left leaning Indys.

I hope it won't be close enough to steal this time around!

11. It'll be a landslide this year Vektor!
I can feel it in the air. And if we dont put Shaheen up... Sununu will be gone as well! I met her opponent at an Obama rally last night. What a great guy. I will be working hard for him this year. We will win! :bounce:

SOME attention. he is not as immersed in it as i am but he gets some info by osmosis. ;-)

i not only did not have to drag him to the polls in 2006, but he stood in line at least an hour at early voting. he was going in for surgery the day before the election and wanted to get his vote in. i was VERY proud of him.

I'm still holding my breath since the last election - I want to see it repeated and I want to get rid of our damned Republican Senators!

9. Best of luck there - hopefully it won't be long.
It looks like America really is waking up. Also, many of the places where there was massive fraud in 2004 are under new legislation - Ohio no longer has the evil Blackwell...maybe the votes will get counted a little more accurately this time.

Can't wait to see tonight's results.
