OK, about as official as it's going to get.

Anyway, right now Obama, 36, Clinton, 36, Edwards 17

1. Looks like we have a real race on our hands.
Sweet. I hope it stays this way throughout the primaries, all these candidates deserve a chance.

38. Fox reported Exit Polls favored Obama ...
Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 09:22 PM by maryallen
Around 39%-35%.

This occurred about the time the polls closed.

And Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC said the Clinton people were not thrilled with their internal polls and appeared to be bracing for a loss tonight.

Funny about these polls ...

36. Minor detail! Voting for race or gender on that alone is racist and sexist.
I'm so very discouraged that after all this country has been through, people STILL can't focus on the issues!

15. Two early factors.
Older voters tend to vote earlier in the day and live in smaller precincts.

Smaller precincts tend to get counted first.

26. hmm
yes I am pretty sure, although I am supporting Hillary tonight, that Hillary will not win. Matthews has given away what his exit polls say by the way he has anchored tonight. It is sad the way they blantantly give this away. They would have covered this different if Clinton was showing half decent.

32. Yes, and
Andrea Mitchell made a comment as if it was all over for Hillary. I haven't decided yet, but shouldn't the votes be counted before anyone is declared a winner or loser?

OT: Tim Russert just said earlier on MSNBC that California has an "open" primary. We actually have a modified closed primary. The short-lived open primary was declared unconstitutional in 2000.

again, still too early. but I agree with you. I thought we'd be losing by 15%. Sadly I still think we may. Iowa started out with an Edwards and Clinton lead as well... and look what happened.
