update

Update <2008-1-8 19:59:38 by Todd Beeton>: Some early local returns from the Concord Monitor. Anyone local care to put these in some context? For example, the Keene numbers should come as no surprise as it's a college town. That's all I know though.

Clinton 1,985, Obama 1,214 in 3 of 12 Manchester wards
Obama 2,807, Clinton 1,933 -- Portsmouth total
Clinton 335, Obama 327 in Chester
Clinton 2,353, Obama 2,290 in 5 of 6 Dover wards
Obama 1,460, Clinton 1,077 in 3 of 5 Keene wards
Clinton 830, Obama 798 in 2 of 6 Rochester wards
Clinton 533, Obama 339 in 2 of 5 Somersworth wards

Update <2008-1-8 20:4:9 by Todd Beeton>:CNN is projecting Edwards will come in 3rd. No shock there but it's their official projection.

Update with more exit poll info

Obama won independents, getting nearly 50% of their votes. Independents comprised about 41% of the Democratic primary vote. But Hillary Clinton won among registered Democrats: 38% to 32%. Clinton wins women narrowly: 40% to 36%. STUNNER: 47% say Obama is most likely to beat Republicans, compared to 33% for Clinton. But Clinton is still viewed as qualified to be commander in chief: 37% say she's the most qualified, versus Obama at 27%.

Interesting stuff. MSNBC says that the race is too close to call, FWIW.

5. Obama started off slow in Iowa, tied with edwards, remember?
This is not to say that the same thing will happen in NH, but we have to wait and see.

10. People are still voting. These results should not have been released.
I am asking the networks to take those numbers back and re-release them when the polls close.

17. ABC announced to close to call
Could that be from exit polling? Obama was expected to win by a ton. If he doesn't, that may slow his momentum.
