Hillary fans...you're deluding yourselves with early non results
as precincts report...say around 10pm eastern time, Obama's lead will become apparent. There must be a lot of fundamental numbers in other key states the Hillary camp has been watching since Iowa for them to seem so down in the dumps. This isn't just about Iowa delegates and possible romp by Obama in NH.

I belive the window of opportunity has closed for Hillary who was always going to be a tough sell in the general election.

However she does a splendid job as NY senator.

I'm sure she and Kerry will have some campaign trail stories to swap when she's back to representing NY full time.

2. I agree completely
Early returns are absentees perhaps (who may have voted before Iowa) and smaller rural areas, and Obama's strength is in the cities.

3. She has a month to redirect her efforts in 20 states.
She has that time to exploit any sense of buyers remorse, something that was not done after Iowa 2004.

19. It wasn't done because Kerry ran an excellent primary campaign
Even after Iowa and NH, the media was geared up to push Edwards. That was when we had the "sunny Edwards" articles. The next election event was the first multi state day, with DE, SC, NM, AZ, MO, and OK. These are great states for a generic Southern populist, bad ones for a liberal leaning New Englander. That Kerry won 5 out of 7 here showed that people still prefered Kerry. Edwards and Dean did try to convince people that they did not want Kerry. Dean was way over the line with his attacks.

5. LOL so many things wrong with this post its hard to stop laughing
"Hillary fans...you're deluding yourselves with early non results"

Exit polls and early results show this will be a closer than expected race in NH.

But its ok for you to claim a Obama romp with little evidence of it?

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/delusion

"This isn't just about Iowa delegates"

You mean Obama's fearsome 1 & 2 delegates leads 2nd & 3rd?

"I'm sure she and Kerry will have some campaign trail stories to swap when she's back to representing NY full time."

I can't tell if this is swipe at Kerry or you simply do not know who the senior senator from NY is.

6. Possibly if she has a close finish
it will be good for the campaign.
She may decide not to go negative on Obama.
The campaign may focus on issues instead of smearing.

Possibly Bill will be more even-keeled and even-handed.

I'm still expecting Obama to edge out Clinton by 3-5%

which, frankly, is a great result for both of them.

not a good night for Edwards though.

15. no. I've watched coverage. and they haven't been unfair at all
the only thing you could say is they were accurately reporting what a shocking development it was that Obama won so strongly after her months of front runner and inevitability campaign we all endured.

18. I'm not deluding myself
I've already ceded New Hampshire to Obama. It's a state of mostly libertarian righties and right-leaning independents who aren't really Hillary's constituency. Make that Democrat's constituency.

They're McCain type people and have been for the last decade.

Add in a bunch of sophmoric 'movement' voters and in a state with an open Dem primary I don't expect much better.

I freely admit that these early numbers don't mean much, but I "hope" it's okay with you if I let my "hopes" rise a little that she may not lose by as big a number as have been recently predicted.
