Why are they projecting the Republican race?

Why are they projecting the Republican race?
and not the Democratic race when their difference in votes is similar and their amount of precincts being reported are similar?

6. Because the exit polls are too close for the Dems but not the Reps.
The Dems are having a horse race. The Republicans more like the tortoise and the old but faster warhorse.
