by what the results are so far.

I think the end of the night will tell two things about why this happened.

Women broke for Hillary big time. And Independents split for Obama & McCain, thereby sucking at least 3 or 4 points he had in Iowa.

9. It was a very warm day out about 60 degrees.
And all the gray hairs were out voting. That was my thought as I was out running today. I had to take off my sweat shirt. The huge turnout was in part due to the warm weather in my opinion.

5. Ok, I have to ask this question.... There was some talk earlier about the voting...
machines that are used in NH.... Is there any reason that this vote would be adjusted, and if so, why?

7. It reinforces my fear about Obama..
Independents will break for The Republican, especially if it's McCain, and young people won't show up.

12. Reality
Aint it a bitch.

So much for hyperbolic campaigning on marshmallow positions...all form and no substance. Yeah, ride that wave.

I detest Hillary, and am 100% Anti-Corporatist.

I see HRC and BO as two corporate peas in a pod.

You think they will ever give Edwards a shot?

15. Have many of the Obama supporters here never been thru a general election before?
Do they not realize the primary is NEVER over in the first two states? It's a process folks, you win some, you lose some. THe rest of the country deserves to see the main candidates and make their choice. WE all aren't sittting at home just waiting for Iowa and New Hampshire to tell us who we get. It doesn't work that way. There is a difference in every state.

Perhaps the reason Iowa broke for Obama is that he's popular with young people and it was a caucus, in the evening, in the cold. I've attended a caucus and it's NOTHING like going to your local firehouse and casting a vote. You have to get there by a certain time, you wait and wait, you go into groups, it takes several hours. Most older adults are less likely to attend those things because many cannot drive after dark, they're tired after work, they don't have child care. The college students were courted BIG time in Iowa, and were most likely to caucus in the bigger cities there. That would skew the vote toward the one that energizes the young vote.. any wonder why Howard Dean did so well early on???

So sit back, enjoy the ride. It ain't over til it's over. Obama is not going to sweep the primaries just yet, in fact, often it's back and forth and back and forth. That's called allowing the entire country to choose a candidate.
