Did the media miss something? (a little backlash here)
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/

"I almost wonder if more Dems didn't vote for Hillary to counter the BS media narrative about rejecting the Clintons once and for all. I say this as someone who has given 1500 bucks to Obama, gone to several of his events out here in CA, met him, and plan to vote for him. Part of me, however, was so pissed about this media narrative about Hillary and the Clintons in general that I had in the back of my mind that I would consider voting for her just to piss the media off. That's not going to happen now as it appears we have a real race, but still . . . do you see what I am saying? I mean this whole weekend we see people like Andrea Mitchell and Chris Matthews salivating over how the Democrats "rejected the Clintons" and want to puke. I am for Obama not because I am against Clinton (either one), but because I am for Obama. That's it. I think he is the best of the big 3 dem candidates. Would I be happy to vote for Hillary or Edwards in the general? Hell yeah. Did I think Bill Clinton was a great President? Yes. And I think Hillary would probably be pretty good too. This whole media narrative sickened me'.

"I have been an Obama supporter since 04, gave money to him this year, own the t-shirt, etc., etc. But the sexist bullsh-t these past days (I am a woman) from the media is making me root for her to win this tonight. The only thing I dread if she wins tonight is the inevitable story from the media that this proves that white america really won't vote for a black man, the resulting made-up defection of Obama's made-up new found black support, etc., etc.""

1. I am an Edwards supporter but the sexism involved here is
overwhelming.

2. The media's early pronouncement of Hillary's demise
probably brought her voters out in drove!

It helped her.

Especially since, when she was becoming emotional, they forgot to show the part when she was attacking Obama through her sighs.

3. Could well be
The proclamations of her demise and dancing on her grave after a single delegate "loss" will do that.

4. None of the big three contenders are going to throw the towel in
any time soon. With numbers like these it's going to be a battle to the finish.

I'm no Obama supporter, but I know Edwards who is trailing behind both is not going to quit us. Take heart, KennedyGuy, we dems have nothing to hang our heads over. Walk proud and take heart that we want the best for our country. The media is fickle, heartless & we darn well know they have no conscience, bought & paid for every step of the way, on that we can all agree.

5. One good thing about these results is that the MSM are now officially exposed as Clinton-haters.
It will be very hard now for her opponents to complain how the press is in HRC's pocket.

Methinks they thought they could deal her a fatal blow -- as they did Howard Dean -- and escape in the dust with their supposed 'objectivity' intact. Thn they could use that 'objectivity' to savage Obama unfairly when the GE came.

But now they are exposed -- even to themselves -- as manipulators of the electoral process. That lessens their speed and venom.

Although you make a valid point about the media's harping on Hillary, I do not like her as a Presidential Candidate. It seems from the info trickling out here and there, that it's her campaigns relationship with the press that has caused some underlying animosity.

In any case, of course people should vote because they believe in a candidate, but also if I'm being honest, another thing that lends to my own rejection of Clinton is that I feel this country has had enough of the Clinton-Bush era...whose next...Jeb?

Might as well have a monarchy. The power concentrated between these two families and corporate America is just too much and it's not helping the average everyday working person. The divide between the haves and have not's is getting wider and wider.

Another point I differ with you on is that if Obama does not get the nomination I will not be voting for a Democrat or a Republican. I only pray there's a decent Independent that I can get behind (if that comes to pass). Otherwise I guess I will not be voting this year. No longer will I vote out of the so called "politics of fear." I will not vote for any Democrat simply because the alternative is a Republican. Especially since not all Republicans are neccessarily "bad".

However, having said that, I do not believe in the approach to and principles of that party in regards to me as an individual minority in this country.

The Status quo will not do for me in 08 and beyond. If Hillary wins New Hampshire, I'll wake up tomorrow (and hopefully the Obama camp will too) and continue the good fight. I'm optimistic that Senator Obama can win and make a real difference in our country.
