Biggest disappointment
I'm not crushed over Edwards' coming a low third - never expected him to be in first place.

What really bothers me is the media hype - first, all we heard was that Hillary was the highest in the polls - all polls, ever since she announced that she was running.

Then, Obama enters the picture, and the media dug Hillary's grave, giving weight to theories that Clinton was out of money, out of support, and what in the world will she do next. Obama has it wrapped up, move on, nothing to see.

I am more disappointed in the media than in any of the candidates. Can they be that wrong or did they plan to look stupid, and, in the process make us look stupid, for what reason?

Who in the hell can anybody trust?

2. I turned off the TV, Tweety ruined my listening to KO. Turned on TCM
and got all of the news right from DU. No high blood pressure just a pleasant, though disappointing night. I wanted JE to do so much better.

3. I was ESPECIALLY disgusted by NPR
I was at a meeting, but I listened to the returns on NPR on the way home, and it was all "Hillary-Obama, Obama-Hillary." I inferred that Edwards, Kucinich, and the others had come in lower, but NPR didn't even MENTION them.

The MSM have continued to act as if Hillary and Obama are the only ones running.

4. You can trust someone that doesn't (probably) have a hope in hell of wining...
ie: Kucinich and on the republican side (if one had to choose a republican) ron paul.... IMO

5. The media hype is just getting ridiculous
They are subject to the same herd mentalities as everyone else but somehow are under the impression that they are rising above it. I agree they have whipsawed back and forth like nothing I've ever seen, annointing winners, dumping them and piling on them the next day, then resurrecting them a week later.

They seem to have forgotten that their role should be to report and analyze the news, not to be the news, or to make it. No matter who your candidate, the media needs to be taken down a notch in terms of their exaggerated self esteem and handed a healthy dish of crow on this one.

6. ALL media is in it for the money...
The hype sells their product. The more its up in the air, the more money they make. Best to find some sources your trust and make up your own mind... until those sources disappoint of course!

Its why the 2000 election was so close - some of the media fessed up this year that they made it seem closer than it was because they didn't want Gore to have a cake walk.

7. The media is manipulating us. Look at their corporate ownership.
They LIKE THINGS THE WAY THEY ARE. Why is ALL OF THE MEDIA - UNIVERSALLY - NOT including John Edwards? We get to hear about ALL of the GOP candidates, in depressing detail. I could probably find out when John McCain had his last bowel movement. Or when Huckabee took his last Viagra, but Edwards...NADA...ZIP...ZILCH.

Why is that? Even if you don't like Edwards, ask yourself WHY would he be excluded in this manner? He came in second in Iowa. And that's not good enough to be mentioned, but we're gonna hear about Rudy's pimple on his butt, and Fred's dry skin.

The media, owned by large corporations who are very diverse, and who are making tons of money with things the way they are now, is very fearful of an Edwards win. So, they're going to bury him. And manipulate public opinion by drowning us in Hillary-Barack-Hillary-Barack until one or the other of them wins.

Honestly, the goal here is not accuracy. The goal is to prevent the guy they fear the most - Edwards - from getting the word out. There is no other explanation for it. Edwards does have a lot of support, but you'd never know it watching M$M.

Follow the money, and the truth shall reveal itself! Edwards is what the status quo fears the most!! Edwards needs to be our next President.
