A brief plea to the supporters of each of OUR candidates.
Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 11:08 PM by Bongo Prophet
Hey, I realize you will be pumped, and rightly so. Or disappointed.
Whether candidate X wins or loses, tonight and in the following races - it is time to start being bigger people -gracious winning (or losing for that matter) will go a long way in helping us pull together for the general.
If we wait until the ritual make up sex of the convention, so much time will be lost, with hard feelings and other psychic damage.
Rather, we could use that time in more civil fashion, spending time on strategies and honing OUR OWN candidates, and learning to persuade and engage. Not snark and invective.
Better training for the general, you know?
Certainly we want our final candidates to not be so bloodied that it weakens them.
That certainly is my goal, and theoretically the goal of most of us here.
At least-- the ones who aren't here just for the "game" that is.

I mostly keep out of the vicious vortex in the primary, and then try to help bring us together for the changes we need.
That is my role and personality, just as yours is candidate advocacy.

The best samurai is a polite samurai.

I guarantee, good manners and decency will help your candidate, especially at this stage going into the heavy emotional fights to come.
Shouting for people to eat crow or other childish taunts only injure and do not help your candidate or our collective causes.
Plus, it is just damn rude.

After all, we are all human here, (right?) trying strike a path out of this quagmire of neocon madness.
The exact course we should take, we the people will decide.
For smart and stupid reasons, people will choose.
Both infuriating and inspiring, this crazy democratic process.

When we get through the convention, the work to repudiate the Bush era and strike that new path begins with the worthy challenge of KICKING THE GOP's ASSES.
We will do it TOGETHER, with former foes at our side.
Keep that in mind.
Sorry for stating the obvious, but it had to be said. Again.
Some of you are new to this process, welcome.
I look forward to working with you all for our DEMOCRATIC candidate.
So get ready, folks.

Finally, a promise for you kids who so love to do battle.......
THERE WILL BE GOBLINS AND DRAGONS APLENTY,
for ALL you bright Dem warriors to hack and to slay.
Strike a bold course into the future, HooRay!

This is going to be epic.

^_^
Happy days soon come
bProphet

2. Thx bProphet, Well stated
:applause:

We shouldn't be fighting each other as this primary heats up. We should TRY and find the GOOD qualities of ALL OUR CANDIDATES to lift them up in the eyes of our fellow Americans and the world at large. We should INFORM new people coming to this site what OUR PARTY STANDS FOR, and not bickering over the small stuff.

It's about TIME to become adults here and show how the Democratic PARTY is the BEST PARTY to belong too.

ALL OUR CANDIDATES HAVE GREAT QUALITIES. They ALL have shown they have leadership abilities. They are the ADULTS after all. We have seen the type of leadership our country has suffered under the Bush Regime and his Minions in congress. And speaking of the Minions, the republicons have NEVER played by the rules, they NEVER WILL. No matter how many times we hear from both sides of the aisle that we need to be bi-partisan it ALWAYS back fires on the Dems. It is a very old and tired republicon ploy. They WILL NEVER work with the Democrats.

When we took back the House and Senate in '06, Grover Norquist put out the call to the party to VOTE NO on every bill. Make sure MAKE SURE NOTHING GETS DONE.... Seems to be working out for them, with them blocking our votes or making sure Mad king Boy George would veto. And WOW who do you think is getting the BLAME for this..... Ahem, you got it the Democrats.

:hi::loveya:

You brought up some very good points and it's a shame it's destine to the dust bin of history.

I thought Edwards speech tonight in NH shows that it's in it for the fight. He acknowledged his 2nd place Iowa and his 3rd place showing in NH. He congratulated Clinton, and Obama. He mentioned his issues and why he is in it till the end.

John collected FOUR more delegates. :woohoo:

Obama's speech was also positive. I think his message of change is uplifting. However, I think his message might be more of rally cry for battle in the general. It was a great speech. Although, I'm still not on board the Obama wave. For NOW.

Barack collected NINE more delegates.

Still waiting for Clinton's speech. Hillary also gave a great speech. Right now she is my second choice.

Hillary has collected NINE more delegates.

On edit: observations on HRC speech added above.

I thought everyone one of them had incredible speeches. We should be PROUD of ALL of them.

Of course this is a difficult election for me because I wanted Gore or Kerry to run this time.
