Former senator Fred Thompson (R-Tenn.) felt right at home at a Tuesday night at Birds on a Wire on Devine Street.

"All of the other candidates who are running for president are freezing in New Hampshire tonight while I'm in South Carolina," Thompson said. "Who's smart enough to run for president?"

My friends, who routinely do volunteer work GOP campaigns, tried to get involved with Thompson's campaign and couldn't get their calls returned. They said the campaign is more half assed then a high school election. My GOP friends are not clowns either, they all worked on the hill and have connections to the state and local GOP. They have moved on to other candidates, like most primary voters.
