Hillary was on Fox "Live" distorting Obama's Iraq War Stance just like Bill did in NH!

She was defending her husband Bill's attack on Obama's 2004 Iraq comments, and repeated the attack herself and acted like Bill was perfectly justified.

In 2004, Obama, while appearing on MTP with Russert, was queried on his own Iraq war stance. In order not to have to debate w/t Russert as to why he was therefore supporting the Kerry-Edwards, two IWR voters, he didn't come out as forcefully as he might have, in order not to appear to be criticizing the Dem ticket. At that time, he also took the speech off of his website. Not because he no longer was "proud" of it, he just didn't want it to become an issue with the press. On the show, he stated that if he had been in Congress, he wasn't sure how he might have voted, because he didn't have the intelligence, etc.... In other words he was covering their ass cause that was the thing to do.

Of course, Fox didn't follow up to ask any questions about Hillary's own record on war votes and such.

This reminded me of how Wes Clark (whom I supported in 2004) was taken through the ringer with his infamous "I probably would have voted for it" IWR comment that came out in the NYT, the day after he announced his candidacy in 2003. He was someone that really hadn't supported idea of an Iraq War (Obama's stance was even irrevocably stronger and clearer than Wes)but Wes was made to look as if he had by the press and everyone else after that. I have always defended him on this, and have always felt pissed and frustrated that this was done to him.

So this distortion of Obama's record is unacceptable to me, and I pray that Wes Clark advises Hillary and Bill to cut it out ASAP. And I hope that Obama starts talking about Hillary's own record, cause that's what really sucks without having to stretch anything.

I consider folks that twist the truth to be folks that I am not interested in voting for, even if they use the excuse that this is politics. Stretching to truth into a lie about someone else's record is not ok. If a candidate can't fight with the truth on their side, then I don't need them fighting for me. Maybe it will be me who they will be lying to next when convenient.

This is why she is not my candidate.
I cannot support someone who plays Gotcha politics.

1. I saw it--it was not a distortion
he may have excuses for why he said what he did, but she told the FACTS.

I'm glad you are into politicians that do this.

I am not.

8. Exactly. She told the truth about his actions.
He is claiming: "well, I did not mean those actions. I was really just lying to the press when I said those things."

I am not "into" politicans who say one thing while doing either: nothing or the opposite of what they say.

2. Good...shows they're going to stay on the smear trail
Obama was on Morning Joe this morning and signalled that he needed to do a better job at telling people the truth about his positions on the issues. With the Clintons, he'll get plenty of opportunities. Voters already know who the more trustworthy candidate is. He just needs to drive the point home.

3. It would be interesting to know what Kerry feels about this
Tim Russert asked Obama again about this on MTP last year. Obama gave the same response. Most people knew why he said and understood it as not underminig the nominee.

She knows she's distorting the facts. It might come back to bite her.

support of a candidate who engages in such behavior.

You know, the Murdoch press was credited with the - H.C. in a Panic- and - Yesterday,She’s so Yesterday - front page press. This (along with the H.C. was piled upon in the debate) is now being credited with helping women rush to the polls in defense of H.C. On Morning Joe (I think it was Morning Joe) it was reported that the Clinton team had a long memory and would not forget the treatment (I guess the media has been put on notice – be nice to Hillary or else your future access will be limited – hmm… now who does this remind me of…… anybody?). Furthermore, they said that people on the left were worried about the relationship between the Clintons and Murdoch but now … well it was inferred - what’s there to worry about. I also heard this compared to the incident in N.Y. where the voters rallied behind the woman candidate who the male candidate had tried to intimidate.

When I saw the headline “Yesterday” on a record I was a bit puzzled. The words to Yesterday go something like – yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away….. oh how I believe in yesterday…. I guess the Murdoch press was failed to realize that such “attacks” would rally the older voters and women voters in New Hampshire.

It’s amazing how these incidents brought the women to the polls for Hillary. It really couldn’t have gone any better if they had planned it.

6. Oh....I agree! That whole sequence was orchestrated.....
and there are certain folks that can see through that.

It was soooooo clear to me.

This is not a good development on my having to question this candidates' character. That is not a place where I wanted to go.
