Obama played "Prevent Defense" during the debate; Prevent doesn't work
I said it on debate night and I still stand by it. He was trying not to make a mistake. The only mistake he made was being to cautious. I hope he comes out swinging next time.

1. I agree
He was riding high on the polls and didn't want to make a mistake, so he played it too safe. If he had wowed people, he might have cemented more support. As it is, he gained a lot after Iowa, if you compare the pre-Iowa bump NH polls and NH results. The bump was ending on monday, about the time these things usually do, but everyone went the opposite way with their predictions.

2. The old saying about "Prevent" defense.
"It prevents you from winning."
