Let me tell you about my memorable night!!!
I had an unexpected great night!!!!

Hillary's NJ offices opened last Thursday. On Monday I got a
call from the state headquarters in Trenton inviting me to
join them at a bar in Hoboken (my town) to watch the results.
I went feeling low and thinking that she wouldn't win, but
misery loves company and that at least it would be a good way
to network and strategize for Feb. 5th.

The press was there and I was interviewed by TV reporters from
NJ12 and Univision, plus a reporter from The Star-Ledger (my
quote appears in today's edition).

In attendance were the campaign's state Field Director and
paid staffers, plus volunteers like me. As the results started
trickling in we were all stunned, and I mean every one of us,
that she remained consistently ahead. When CNN finally called
it in and Hillary was declared the winner, the shouts in the
bar were deafening. To celebrate the Field Director treated us
to tequila shots.

The sheer joy of seeing one's candidate win a race that
everyone had predicted she would lose was beyond thrilling!!!

I left invigorated and ready to work hard to ensure that NJ
falls in her column on Super Tuesday.

Last night reminded me how exciting it is to campaign for
someone like Hillary and how lucky we are as Dems. to have
such wonderful candidate's running for president.

1. That is such a great night for you!
Even if we support different candidates, I applaud your efforts. Trust me, I know from my own experiences in Iowa, and Nevada, how personal this becomes.

There is no substitute for being there.

You're going to have a blast in NJ, and I wish you, and Hillary the best of luck, and please do keep us posted. This is what DU needs to be about!

3. That's fantastic
Sounds kind of like a football night at the sports bar where your underdog team comes back and wins it.

Only for political junkies who think about the real world.

We all felt great.

What was your quote?

I'm meeting in an hour with my little group and I can't wait to tell them all of last night's events. I got for them campaign window signs, bumper stickers and pins. Around here we don't need yard signs since it's a city (no yards).

My quote was:

"This is great, considering what they had prognosticated. It just proves the media doesn't know what it's talking about. They started to crown a candidate with only one showing in an early caucus."
