1. Right now, It's not a question of whom the GOP likes the most...
...it's a question of whom they hate the least!

18. You make good points...
And, I think Romney's got way too many flip-flop issues with abortion and gay rights to swing it. But, he does have money.

Yeah, the covenant marriage creeps me out too :scared:

17. Huckabee doesn't remind me of Shrub in any way. He can communicate, and he's far smarter.

24. I agree. Known quantity against the "change" candidate the Dems
will put up. As voters get nervous when it comes down to the final choice, McCain would be the "safety" choice.

8. Not bloodly likely
The system is stacked against independent and/or third-party candidates. The closest we've gotten lately was Perot in 1992, and he still didn't get a single electoral vote.

15. Hoping for Keyes (HA!), thinking it's McCain
I'm hoping it's Keyes because
1) He's beatable as snot
2) He jumped in TV Nation's Mosh Pit in 2000 (the only candidate who did)

I'm thinking it's McCain because
1) The GOP party establishment like him better than Huckster
2) He's still got a bit of the "maverick" image left to him (but not nearly as much as '00)
3) The flopstench of Mitt Romney is overwhelming
