South Dakota Senator Tim Johnson is endorsing Barack Obama
Johnson backs Obama

Jan 9 2008 3:31PM

Associated Press

MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) South Dakota Senator Tim Johnson is endorsing a colleague for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Johnson says he's backing Barack Obama because he's bi-partisan and wants to bridge differences between the two parties.

The state's other elected leaders announced their endorsements some time ago: Senator John Thune endorsed John McCain, Representative Stephanie Herseth Sandlin supports John Edwards, and Governor Rounds backs Mike Huckabee.
