For Edwards supporters only! I am doing a stump speech tonight for John
I have done this before and I put emphasis on John representing us and being the ONLY candidate that will tackle corporate corruption. What other things would you like added? I am "fired up and ready to go".My guy is no quitter and he sure isn't bowing out to "help " the opposition. Those who suggest it do not understand this campaign!

1. Yes, I remember in the last camptaign
He specifically spoke out against regulating the ads that drug companies run. I haven't heard him say it this time around (because he gets little air time) but I presume he still feels this way. Those drug ads are insidious. We are not supposed to go suggest to our doctors what medications they put us on. Those ads needs to be regulated or taken off the air.

10. Keep telling people not to let the corporate media decide
for them who their candidate will be. Of course the media, who are controlled by corporations, are going to ignore him. Because he is a threat to them--as the corporations, in the way they do business now, are a threat to the American people!!!!! We need a slogan.
Make corporations good neighbors!
Corporations can be our friends!
John works for you, do corporations?
Edwards does more than the big box store!

Yeh, yeh, I know. None of these work. In fact they're downright stupid. But you know what I mean. Maybe someone else can come up with a good one.
Hey that's the reason I support him, over and above Clinton and Obama that is (DK all the way). Because he would cool the heels of the corporations.

3. Great news Sara-
I'm speaking for him at the Nevada Caucus. Part of my speech will be this letter my daughter sent to the Edwards Campaign:

i wanted to send an email to you to let you know that i think you can save america. this country needs you more than any other candidate i have observed. you have given me hope. i am turning 18 years old soon, and i will be attending college. if you become president, i can have a chance of graduating and getting a career. i will be able to have what my parents never had. i also struggle with bipolar disorder and medical bills that are too expensive. if you can make the health care system into what you want, i will be able to get the care that i have needed. if you can do these wonderful things as president, you will honestly be my hero.

Use it if you like. I thought it brings home how personal this is for some people. Now go kick some ass for the working class!

that truly 'gets it'. He is not running for himself, for the party or for anything but we the people. This is about us and he recognizes that.

5. Offshoring is a big deal in my area
"stable and productive(non-vampire)" economy would be nice too.

I know you can't fix it, but can you pass the message up the line for him to quit pushing for wars in other places? There are plenty of poverty problems here in the US that need attention, instead.

8. His background (and that he hasn't forgotten it)
is one of the things I admire - growing up working-class in a small textile mill town.

He could've been just one more wealthy lawyer who "made it out" of their small town and never looked back. Instead, he's stayed genuine and wants to use public service as a way to give back to the society that enabled him to succeed.

Where are you speaking? Good Luck!!

12. Edwards recognizes the need for a strong middle class in America.
It feels like we are the forgotten ones. We're working two jobs, three jobs, whatever it takes to put our children through college, pay for health care, put food on the table, a roof over our heads, and gasoline in our vehicles...all of this while we shoulder the tax burden of America and watch our jobs go overseas.

Good luck with your speech. You are doing a good thing. :)

13. I've been thinking about an interesting framework, though I don't know how
effective it would be.

John has spent his professional career representing injured parties and making them whole. As he runs for president, he is metaphorically representing all of us in a virtual class action lawsuit. The defendants are the ugly, greedy corporate bad apples who have had a free ride for too long. John is trying to make us whole in the form of leveling the playing field between us and them (labor Vs capital); he wants the remedy to be a change in the rules of the game so that we don't get screwed over as much.

27. Posted in another thread but applies here as well....
I just returned from his rally in Columbia SC. My daughter and I were asked to stand on stage with a crowd of 20 people behind John. Oh man it was exciting. Such a great experience. The loudest applause was in referrence to ending the war. They even said "fired up and ready to go". I was also a volunteer at the Obama/Oprah rally. That was so awsome. Edwards' people even gave us yard signs. Gobama/Edwards

34. Where's the universal health care?
Right before the Iowa caucus, Edwards talked at a rally about how--if playing nice with health care and pharmaceutical corporations worked, wouldn't we have universal health care by now? He had about 3 areas in relation to corporations where he used this idea. I haven't heard him use it since, but it played very well at the rally. I thought it was a great line.

37. My purse strings belong to John Edwards.
Not the hands of greed covered in blood or oil.

The United States Ecomomy has been hijacked by corporations like Enron, Halliburton, Exxon, AT&T, KBR, Titan, CACI, Blackwater. The United States Economy is left behind by corporations as white collar jobs head overseas
http://www.pbs.org/now/politics/jobflight.html, blue collar jobs move overseas http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=14136204

This is not the time for a negotiations! This is not time to hope! This is not time to work it out!
No amount of hoping, no amount of working, no amount of negotiating is going to bring our jobs back! No amount of hoping, no amount of working, No amount negotiating is going to end the blood money that is sustaining this war!

It is time to end the greed.....It is time to end the bloodshed.......It is time for DEMOCRACY TO TAKE A STAND! John Edwards is the only candidate who has placed himself in a position to make the necessary changes our country needs TODAY! His purse strings are not tied to these bloodthirsty, money hungry corporations who are sucking the very life out of the ordinary men and women in this country! His purse strings are held by the ordinary men and women he is fighting for!

George W. Bush made sure ordinary men and women are left without pensions, without healthcare, without jobs, without clean air, without clean water, without homes, without a constitution, without the respect around the world, without pride! He has taken this GREAT COUNTRY, and left it for the wolves and scavangers! George W. Bush has divided this country and left fear in the hearts of all Americans!

It is time TIME FOR DEMOCRACY for the men and women in this Great Nation to rise up to the injustices of corporate greed. It is time for DEMOCRACY to claim our jobs, to claim our politicians, to claim our media, to claim our lives back! M purse strings belong to John Edwards. My purse strings belong to John Edwards and JOHN EDWARDS STANDS FOR ME! I will claim my life back! I will claim my media back! I will claim my job back! I will claim my country back! John Edwards stands for me and my purse strings belong to him!

42. Something positive...
Something like... Edwards has the grit and determination to fight to put this country back on track. He has battled giant corporations with deep, deep pockets, and come out on top. He has a proven track record of standing up to those that would cheat someone out of their due... now is the time to put Edwards to work for you!

Silly closer there, but I can be a silly person.
