And I suppose that's perfectly fine for some.

For those like you and I . . . who want our leaders to, and I'm just spitballing here, have Democratic positions on issues, where are we to go?

You seem awfully cavalier about those who leave because they are dissatisfied with the current Dem party. It doesn't concern you if enough leave, there may not be that many left to vote for your candidate??

13. As I explained
it's a childish threat, and I won't be swayed for it. The implied threat is "vote for MY candidate, or I'll make sure you suffer later."

It's blackmail, and it's childish, and I think 99% of the people who say it are just stamping their feet and holding their breath - they're not to be taken seriously.

In 28 years of voting the only time MY candidate won the nomination was 1996, when Clinton ran unopposed. Did I leave the party? Never. I've always voted for our nominee, whether or not he was my first choice.

I'm not going to change my primary vote in the futile hope that some whingers won't leave the party.

45. Did I say I was leaving the party?
You're just plain ignorant.

It's extremely unlikely Clinton could win the election. You can bookmark this thread for future reference if you like. I called the last four right, and I even predicted Kerry would lose the GE back during the primaries on DU, for all the reasons that he did lose. There were plenty of Kerry supporters who acted like asses at the time, cheering on their racehorse and pettily denigrating detractors instead of thinking about the larger goal of actually getting a Democrat into the White House.

Clinton is the worst choice of the 3 remaining. Bloomberg will probably run, and will probably peel away just enough Democrats and Independents to let McCain walk in.

win the general election?

I ask because the attitude you display in this thread is certainly not going to bring a single convert to your cause. This isn't a fucking football game. This is about people's lives and futures. The games you're playing don't help your candidate and they don't help our party.

It's simply not going to happen. Nobody here has ever converted anybody.

But in the meantime, I'll have fun pointing out that the "my way or the highway" so-called Dems are childish little whingers with no sense of history and even less knowledge of politics.

And don't lecture me about "our party" when I'm the one arguing for supporting the party.

The outcome of the NH primaries were questionable. Need I say more?

51. Of all the fascist loyalty threads I've seen here in the past week
This is the Fascist-iest.....

Now there's a slogan you can sell goody bags and official Hillary Devil's Food Cake with.

It would be a laugh riot if it didn't involve the irreversible destruction of this country. :evilfrown:

74. It's not really the job of the voter to mold his/her views to the party.
It's up to the party to listen to it's constituents.

So are we going to be part of the party that blames it's own voters for not allowing it to take them for granted?

I mean, I kind of expect my leaders to have oppositional points of view.

When they voted FOR Bewsh's Iraq debacle and FOR his green-light to go all John Wayne on Iran if he sees fit AND FOR the 2001 Bankruptcy bill AND AGAINST the Cluster Bomb vote AND supported the Peru trade agreement AND supports job offshoring AND wants to increase h1-b and L1 visas here . . . do people still have the GALL to ask why I wouldn't support such a candidate?

83. News flash
If Hillary gets the nomination, IT IS THE WILL OF THE CONSTITUENTS.

Sorry, but I don't buy this corporate America controlling the votes thing. People are still voting for all of the candidates, and who are you to tell the people that vote for someone you like that their vote shouldn't count because it's not for the people you support?

86. Actually, it's quite possible for her to get the nom without the will of the people.
If the delegate numbers go in her favor, she can get it regardless of who the people vote for. That's been pointed out a lot here.

I'm hard pressed to understand why anyone would support a candidate that has an arguably large amount of negatives and less-than-democratic positions on key issues such as the Middle East and preventing jobs from going overseas. The trade, visa and offshoring issue that I keep bringing up is one that no one wants to touch with a ten-foot pole apparently.

96. Well, I'm hard-pressed to understand
why it is people on DU believe that voters who support someone other than their particular candidate are not legitimate. People who support a candidate, any candidate, on DU are told as a matter of course anymore how they are at best stupid and at worst traitors to their country. There's a sizeable portion of DU posters who believe that they are the only ones with a valid viewpoint. I hate to see self-proclaimed "progressives" acting like Republicans.

If Hillary gets the number of delegates in the primaries, that is a measure of how many people voted for her in the primaries. That in turn is a measure of her support. What authority does anyone have to tell them they are wrong?
