Advice to Michigan Democratic voters: Vote for Kucinich!
Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 03:57 PM by zulchzulu
I was listening to Randi (don't agree with her all the time), but she had great advice for Michigan voters. Vote for Dennis!

If you write in "Uncommitted", the vote is thrown away. It might feel good, but it's exactly what the MI Dem leadership wants.

Let's give Dennis a win or at least 15% in Michigan. Contact all your friends in Michigan and do the right...I mean, correct thing.

1. Please edit your post
The uncommitted vote is not "thrown away." Only write-ins are "thrown away."

I am voting UNCOMMITTED. Other Edwards, Obama, Richardson, Biden supporters could do the same and feel good about it.
.
"MY WIFE AND I ARE VOTING UNCOMMITTED. WE WILL WORK WITH THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY TO MAKE SURE THAT UNCOMMITTED DELEGATES GO TO THAT CONVENTION TRULY UNCOMMITTED SO THAT OBAMA CAN COMPETE FOR THEIR VOTE." Congressman Conyers (D)

And obviously Edwards and others can compete for their vote too.

A recent MI poll had
47% Clinton
28% uncommitted.

If the final results are like that, it certainly sends a message that many do not support Clinton even when she is the only frontrunner on the ballot.

2. Thanks
Do you write on the ballot "Uncommitted"? I heard on CSPAN the MI Democratic Party guy (forget name) today saying that if you write on the ballot, it's thrown out. So is "Uncommitted" somewhere where you can check or do you write on the ballot?

Thanks for your response.

3. Just as there is a box next to Clinton than you fill in to mark your vote
there is a box next to "Uncommitted" that you fill in to mark your vote.
Any write-in will be thrown out.

Uncommitted has won many elections. It beat Carter in Iowa in 1976.

5. Yes, what an awesome Victory! that will be. Mission Accomplished.
We should just skip the rest of the primaries after that one.

If she can't get 50% of the vote against Kucinich, Gravel, a guy who dropped out and uncommitted, that does not reflect well on her. If Hillary wants to declare Victory! she can.
I doubt anyone will care one way or another.

10. Hilarious! Talk about a cheap victory...
Hillary broke the rules and might win a state that has ZERO delegates. How pathetic...

11. Vote for Dennis!
Put a stop to this horseshit of the corporations, DLC, and Whore Media eliminating candidates from the race at will.

If Dennis Kucinich wins a state like Michigan, it sends the message that this primary is FAR from over, and that THEY, the corporate interests, do NOT get to make the decision. They will have no excuse left to exclude Dennis or Edwards from the debates or news coverage.

I'm hoping Edwards takes South Carolina for the same reasons.

18. ALL the votes have been thrown away already
The only question left for us in Michigan is what to write on the duct tape over our mouths.
