Proof that Obama's "misogynist theme song" story is bullshit.
Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 04:00 PM by Occam Bandage
Now, the NY Post (and those who parroted it happily) claimed, As Obama and his wife, Michelle, strolled triumphantly into his victory party in Des Moines, Iowa, on Jan. 3, Jay-Z's "99 Problems" was blaring. In it, Jay raps, "I got 99 problems, but a bitch ain't one."

That is patently false. Here is Obama entering the party, and taking the stage. Note how Jay-Z does not play at any point:

Now, here is Obama's standard setlist, per Boston Globe. This matches with the songs played in Des Moines. Note, again, an absence of Jay-Z.

1. Marvin Gaye, "Ain't No Mountain High Enough''
2. John Parr, "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)''
3. Tina Turner, "The Best''
4. The Doobie Brothers, "Takin' It To The Streets''
5. Earth, Wind & Fire, "Shining Star''
6. O'Jays, "Give The People What They Want''
7. Sam and Dave, "Hold On I'm Coming''
8. Kool & the Gang, "Celebration''
9. Natasha Bedingfield, "Unwritten''
10. The Isley Brothers, "Shout''
11. The Temptations, "Get Ready''
12. India.aire, "There's Hope''
13. McFadden and Whitehead, "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now''
14. Staples Singers, "I'll Take You There''
15. Orleans, "Still The One''
16. Sly and the Family Stone, "Everyday People''
17. The Doobie Bros., "Long Train Running''
18. Stevie Wonder, "Sir Duke''
19. John Fogarty, "Centerfield''

Also noted: Obama took the stage to U2's "City of Blinding Lights,'' and he departed to Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered.''

6. Agreed.
We need to stop chasing after every ridicurous claim and accusation the GOP creates.

From now on, no matter what claim a republican makes about any democratic candidate, my standard reply will be: "Great!"

4. And if you're gonna play a Fogerty song at a rally, You've GOTTA go with "Fortunate Son"!
(Or, in the fall, if he's up against McCain, "The Old Man's Down The Road".

14. Yeah, but it's nothing compared to "St Elmo's Fire"
Yet another reason why each and every GenX-er needs to be thrown under a bus.

3. What, no "We Are Family"?
"Lean on Me", either the Bill Withers original or the remix, would also be good.
n/t.

5. As I have said before, playing a profanity and N-word-laced Jay-Z song...
...at any political event with reporters and cameras present...

...well, if Obama and/or his supporters were that stupid, there's no WAY they would have won Iowa.

11. Dude. If that song EVER played at an Obama rally, it would be DJ Karl Rove at...
...the turntables. PUH-lease! It only takes one diseased brain cell to detect the bullshit in that claim.

But apparently a lot of Americans don't even have a single, diseased brain cell left. Sad.

16. So are people flooding ABC with e-mails demanding a retraction?
She is supposed to be a "journalist" of sorts. And considerly all of about 30 seconds of "fact-checking" is all that's required to disprove this...

But it doesn't surprise me to hear that she no longer has even one diseased brain cell. She's as vapid as they come.
