CNN/OPC California Poll: Clinton 47%; Obama 31%; Edwards 10%
Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 04:20 PM by WesDem
Clinton: 47%
Obamal 31% (fixed typo - 41%)
Edwards: 10%

And
John McCain: 20%
Mitt Romney: 16%
Rudy Giuliani: 14%
Huckabee: 13%

The margin of error for both samples is +/-6. I suppose it's significant that Romney and Giuliani are essentially tied.

22. As a Californian
I just hope most of this state does not vote for Hillary because of name recogniton. Obama needs to come out here. Not just to the urban areas but the Central Valley that would be rich in Indy, Dem and sane repug votes.

I am also happy that California finally has a say so in this primary.

16. Even more so when you factor in Edwards.
My thinking is that if Edwards doesn't win SC, he pulls out and endorses Obama. That's a big chunk of voters, apart from converts.

11. Give it time. I'm sure Hillary's support will fade going into Super Tuesday.
Wins in NV and SC would help, though my suspicion is that Edwards pulls out and endorses Obama if Edwards doesn't win SC. That would be a big boost.

12. Sadly, I think these numbers may be wrong.

Apparently Politico was also a sponsor and they say its actually a 47-31 advantage for HRC.

14. Halprin has Obama at 31 instead of 41. One of them has a typo and neither
Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 04:18 PM by Pirate Smile
has a link.

I've got burned by copying one of their typos before. They need to be more careful.

The Political Wire has it as 31 also. http://politicalwire.com/

6% is a big margin of error.

23. It's a huge state, with lots of variety.
If you know a few folks there and talk to them about politics, you'll quickly find out just how varied things have become.

Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 04:32 PM by redqueen
She says she doesn't know really... he just seems popular. Lots of folks like him. Also, Kucinich did that thing where he "endorsed" him.

*sigh*

26. My sister here in AZ is all lala about Obama too.
She even painted his picture with an Egyptian Pharoah's headress, uniter of the kingdoms and all I guess (very nice painting by the way, luv ya' sis!). She's a white boomer and I'm guessing she thinks the white good old boys have done too much damage and it's time for a black man. I don't care what color the man/woman is, I just want someone who wants to kick some ass in Washington and turn some corporate elite tables over.
