Ed Schultz has become unlistenable due to his obsession with Hillary
His show, as of late, has devolved into barely contained hatred. I try to listen, but he is making it impossible as he repeats the same thing over and over and over, day in, day out. Stephanie Miller has also become unlistenable, which is sad because I have listened to her on my way to work for a long time. She hasn't reached the hate level yet, but the irrationality and repetition of her endless Hillary monologue has finally worn me out on her. It's like watching a caricature of, 'The Truman Show,' where they slowly deteriorate in public nervous breakdowns.

I don't mind them airing their displeasure with her, but they have both become so obsessive in it that it is ruining their shows. I have a hard time identifying either as Democrats or progressives anymore.

If I wanted to listen to that crap endlessly, I would turn on Rush Limbaugh.

Now I just listen to Tom Hartman and Randi Rhodes.

Gawd I hope Edwards wins the nomination

1. I stopped listening to him a long time ago
Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 06:29 PM by quinnox
It didn't have anything to do with Hillary, but he is just really boring to listen to IMHO. Not a good radio "personality".

2. It seems that he's mad that she wouldn't go on his show.
Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 06:29 PM by TwilightZone
Considering his reaction, perhaps her decision not to appear was a sound one.

18. Really??
After he slammed Biden, I wrote him and told him to put down the twinkies and start paying attention to what was really important, and that he was a self-serving jack ass.

I never got an email back. ;-)

29. maybe you should be a little more polite when you write?
Just sayin'. These people are human after all.

I wrote to them about something once and got a nice answer back from Wendy, his wife. And I also wrote to them about their website once and also got a response.

7. He does whatever gets him 5 minutes of air time on
cable television. It looks good to have "progressive" trashing the democratic front runner. He used to be and still is to a big degree a Conservative talk host...I guess he couldn't cut it with the limbaugh crowd. Loser is pissed that Clinton wouldn't come on his show. Sometimes I think I'm listening to Fox talk on XM rather than air america.

9. Thats bull shit. He was totally fair today often sticking up for Hillary
especially on her comment about MLK Jr. He went out of his way to stand up for her on that. You are just pissed because he is making sense on his other criticisms of Bill and Hillary and their Rove type tactics.

endlessly yammering about her and nothing else. After 15 minutes of it I had enough. I wont be listening to him anymore. Like I said, I don't mind them criticizing her, but endless obsession is another matter. I bet he cusses about her in his sleep.

AAR must rent out that slot to her on the local station. Is she with the Jones Radio Network?

25. A lot of people make that mistake. Big Eddy isn't AAR either. the station
you are talking about, if like 1090 in Seattle, isn't an "AAR" station. They buy AAR programs and also Jones Radio Network. I think Stephanie is with Jones.

26. She needs to stay away from the devisiveness. I appreciate that she picks
a candidate but many people take that too seriously. She states over and over that she flip flops all the time and will support the Demo pick. But people are getting very polarized and think she should pick a side. I love her wild and crazy attitude and hope she doesn't get into the divisiveness.

He used to be a Repuke until he figured out he could make a small name for himself by switching teams.

He's an uneducated blow-hard who will jump ship faster than you can say NDSU.

A total fuckwad and every single time I hear someone here at DU quote him I simply can not believe it.

41. There's no one in Matthews' league
Edited on Tue Jan-15-08 12:08 AM by Awsi Dooger
I've been catching up to old tapes of Hardball from the past 3 weeks. It's surreal how his mood and tone change when Hillary is the topic. A little juvenile grin and unleashed venom.

Last night I watched the night of the Iowa caucus and Matthews was gushing, comparing it to all-time landmark wins, and wondering how foreign countries will view us with a new leader like that. Then on the eve of the NH primary he was like that tiger that escaped from San Francisco, eager to pounce on Hillary's campaign and gleefully throwing it around the table for one pundit after another to pronounce her dead and flawed.

One night later it was so hysterical I had to watch the tape 3 times. Matthews was stunned to the point his decibel level was perhaps 25% of the day before. Drawn face and almost zero energy. When he finally got around to congratulating Hillary, he was so pathetic he had to link it to Bill's 3rd place finish in '92, saying at least she managed something he had not.

Strictly junior high. That was the first internet summary I head of Chris Matthews, when he surfaced in a major role about a decade ago. Everything indeed drifts back to the beginning. Just a couple of days ago I read a current summation of Matthews' obsession with Hillary, and the writer likened him to a 7th grader who felt compelled to constantly pick on a female classmate.

The crime was by Dan Abrams, who properly ran a lengthy piece on media hatred of Hillary and how it clouds their judgment, but he lacked the guts to identify the prime culprit on his own network.
