Rush Limbaugh is having the time of his life right now at our expense
I have listened to his show on and off since 1992. In all that time I could hardly hear how happy his voice sounds as today. The injection of "race" into this election season has him and all his friends like Karl Rove so happy they are probably dancing around the room.

On the day of a Republican primary in Michigan he has spent the entire show on Clinton-Obama. This should be telling in and of itself-He and his friends want to destroy our party and then can laugh all the way to another Nov election victory. The "uncivil war" is what he is calling this. Folks I would not underestimate the damage that this could do going forward to this party and its hopes to win in November. People getting angry enough that they stay home in November. Independants getting so turned off they vote for the Republican. He senses this like blood in the water, and his friends in the corporate media sense this and they are not ever going to let it die regardless which of our nominee's come out of this. They want a wounded candidate to go up against the Republican candidate as its the only way for them to win in Nov.

Looks like they are getting their wish right now and I wish we would stop this now!

Pay no attention to the hate-mongers. They will do their nasty thing with or without us.

5. Rush Limbaugh's audience is no concern to me.
Of course he's eating this up. His own party's prospects for the Presidency are in the shitter.

He and other "true conservatives" hate McCain, they hate Huckabee, and their divisions are about 50 times deeper than ours.

Let that fat fuck celebrate. We'll laugh last.

40. ...yes, yes--he Rocks Their World. We knew this shit would go down.
A day later, and Gooperville has to contend with their primary races being a complete mess, with most Republican voters thoroughly unhappy with their choices.

Let Rush bray. 95% of Americans do not listen to that crap.

7. Mostly it's up to the candidates and their surrogates.
The MSM loves a fight, better for ratings. And train wrecks.

So long as one side says and does insensitive things and the other side crys "racism"...

(or you could make the same claims about "sexism")

this will continue. Despite the calls for a truce.

16. That's right. The better the fight the better the ratings, more money
for the networks. That's why this has been reported on so gleefully by the media. People were starting to lose interest in Britney, after all, so they needed something to fill the gap.

10. The election isn't until next November.
I doubt anyone will remember a minor one day flap over race from the primary campaign.

It only shows how desperate for good news on the election front the right is.

15. These fires are easier to start then to put out
The media is fanning this and keeping it going. People like Rush want the media to keep at it 24/7 and he will talk about this day and night to keep it out there, and it seems to be working. The media keep it going partly because there are surrogates on both sides who are more then willing to comment to reporters to keep it going. It going to get harder and harder to identify anything that actually said as this spirals out of control. I am sure these reporters are actively seeking comment from anybody that is willing to comment. They (Campaign surrogates) all need to shut up and it would be brave for both Clinton and Obama to publicly address this tonight from the stage and put it out from the top.

Beyond that I am at a loss to think of anything else.

19. You will hear his views on this showing up all over the mainstream media
and you already have to some degree. Its going to get worse also-Listening to that idiot's show at certain pivotal moments in our political discourse is very revealing and this is one of them. Its unfortunate that more then just right wing hicks are listening to this guy. The Washington establishment also does, as well as republican strategists and Democratic strategists. Most of the time his show is tired and he's just an idiot, but there are times he does damage and I feel this is one of them.

There strategy behind this and we have to realize that Rush and his media friends are looking beyond the primaries. They want this to continue full blast so we come out of this wounded and divided. Its a great strategy for them for an election that would otherwise be un-winnable.

Limbaugh is awful, but he is reinforces and is reinforced by the anti-Democratic (which he calls "lib") masses. Today he is making every effort to keep the Obama-Clinton racial matter going.

Yes, he is self-serving at all times. But to ignore this stuff is naive and dangerous, IMO.

From the heckler (good job!) saying stop asking these race based questions, to the way that both candidates handled Rush's errr....I mean Russert's questions this it makes me proud of our side and candidates. So fuck off Rush there is nothing to see here. I think Rush was asking the questions though using a Russert Mask. :)

37. Nominating Obama.
"He and his friends want to destroy our party and then can laugh all the way to another Nov election victory." They don't have to lift a finger; we're doing it for them. But here's what the faint of thought will not face. This will be an issue whether Clinton and Obama bring it up or not.

I'm not one of those who doesn't believe that a black man can get elected in America today. But it has to be the right candidate. This is the Democrats' foolish problem: they are asking America to elect a black man (provided he gets the nomination) who has little experience and no foreign policy experience at a time when we are at war, two wars to be exact, and our economy could actually collapse. On top of that, he's been involved in some questionable activities in his past and though they might be anthills, they will be made into mountains. There are also some superficial Muslim reminders, like his middle name, and as ridiculous as it may seem to you and I, it will be enough to make people pause--and that's all it takes when America is making up it's mind about who should be president. Mark my word; this country will not elect this man president at this point in time.

Now, if Obama had more experience and had been around on the national stage for a longer period of time, if he had more to point to besides the words "change" and "hope" as far as accomplishments, these superficial issues could be overcome. But for this election, all the hope in the world will not get this man elected president. And I'm not saying this as a Hillary supporter, because I'm not. She's got her own set of problems. The disturbing aspect to all of this is that Democrats just don't get it, and I think we'd better be prepared to lose. Sorry, I know I'm not supposed to say that, but I'm a stickler for reality.

People who listen to that horseshit are not independents. They are reliable right-wing Republican voters who are never going to vote Democrat in a presidential election.

Rush has been a non-entity in national politics since 2000, and that's not going to change any time soon.
