Between the 2004 primary, the 2004 general election, the 2006 mid-terms and this 2008 primary cycle, how much money, if any, have you donated to a candidate or candidates?

I donated $100 to John Kerry in 2004 and $25 to Howard Dean.

But in my defense, ethically, I'm not allowed to, as I occasionally cover politics in my job.

2. I don't really know

I can remember a couple of $250 ones in 04 and I can remember maxing out the state-repaid deal they have in MN. I'm up to about $300 in 07-08 with another batch at least that size to go to Edwards on the big Friday fundraiser, so I suppose right now I'm at about $1000 with a bit more to go.

I could do more, as could most people I suspect, but lack of a candidate who I really 100% believe in in all respects has held me back. I may very well have to max out in the general in 08 though. I probably should have in 04, but I was not impressed at all with Kerry's campaign (yes before the results came in even).

$200 to Joe Biden's 2008 primary campaign.

I donated money to Al Sharpton for saying impeachment on the air. He was the first. Kerry and Obama, of course, a a little bit here or there. McEneny I think. I donate to people for weird reasons, if I have an extra $10-$20. I don't remember every one.

Moral of the story: Bet on whomever I'm not supporting...
