Recessions and the Republicans
Here are some facts about recessions, presidents and the two major political parties.

Since 1900 there have been 22 recessions (counting the one that began last month). Of those 22 recessions, 6 were under Democrats and 16 were under Republicans (including Hoover's Great Depression). The length of a recession under a Republican averages 15 months, while under a Democrat 10.5 months. Since 1950 there have been 10 recessions with only one under a Democrat...Carter during the Arab oil embargo and it was the shortest of all the recessions, it lasted 6 months.

It seems the Dems are far better at managing the U.S. economy than the Repugs, so if the economy is the most important issue than the answer is obvious...Vote Democrat in 2008!
