Could someone weigh in on the use of 'black/brown' debate?

Should all 'brown' people be grouped together and not identified?

I do 'get' the black reference, and it's used. But 'brown'? :wtf:


Edit: I learned something tonight; I now 'get' the brown reference. :hi:

1. I've seen "brown people" used on DU many times without any "WTF?" reactions

5. someone brought up that the debate it is supposed to actually that. she also said...
this is supposed to be a black/brown debate and it's unfortunate that we are not talking about that.

6. Its how we black brown people do. . .
. . .its fine, they have a Black/Brown forum in Iowa every Democratic Presidential primary and Black/Brown folks sponsor and/or plan these events.

9. They are pandering to the Latino/Hispanic community this evening.

Hillary did throw in Asian at one point, so points for her I guess, whatever the reason.

Whenever I present a workshop I use "communities of color", since that tends to include everyone without having to point out certain groups.
