1. Edwards hasn't won an election in 10 years.
SC was a presidential primary.

2. Are you saying Hillary won Michigan?
I would hope not.

And if you think you want Edwards out to help Obama, I don't think you do.

24. not at all
she's someone who deals with reality

Obama and Edwards had the same choice she had, they could have stayed in

I don't fault her for leaving her name on the ballot

evidently, a majority of Michigan Democratic voters didn't either

28. I didn't fault her for remaining on the ballot. I do fault her for specific issues, but not that
Edited on Wed Jan-16-08 01:02 AM by still_one
Even though my original post indicated that the Democratic party had a different view, that should not mean there was anything wrong with her remaining on the ballot

I personally don't think it works for or against any of the Democratic candidates

Hitlery's win was by default and by cheat (broke DNC rules).

20% turnout.

That's what happened.

Doesn't mean shit.

11. I can understand your position
But 'in my book', it isn't helpful to alienate people you might need in a month or two. Besides, I still think he'd be better than Hillary.

17. that's fair.
but honestly, as a fairly unbiased observer of this campaign and of DU (I have been here for 5 years every day, but dont post much) i would honestly say that JRE's supporters should probably apply the same logic about once and future allies.

from my POV and mine only, he has alienated me so much that i wouldnt be excited to vote for him, wouldnt write a check, wouldnt volunteer, but yes....would show up at the polls.

21. I feel that way about Hillary
I'm not thrilled about some political calculations I believe Edwards has made. But when I compare that to the odiousness of the Clintons, there is simply no comparison. The law suit in LV, the racial stuff, fundraising, corrupt business associates, China and India policies, nope, Hillary has got nothing to offer me. And every time I try to give her another chance, her campaign does some outlandish thing like claiming this victory in Michigan.

And I have seen you around for many years now. :)

15. Ethics shouldn't slide off anybody's back
Way too much of this stuff is sliding off people's backs. It's what turns people off to politics. Politicians have no right to play these games with OUR election.

25. Even though there was an 'election' in Michigan today....
nothing counts. Unless the Democratic suddenly decides to allow the 'winner' of this 'election' to seat delegates at the convention. That could happen, if the party deems it 'necessary'.

Is that ethical?
