The repukes shamble toward NV and SC
What a frickin' mess the repuke race is. Huckabee in Iowa, McCain in NH and now Mitt in MI. On Saturday they have a double header. I'm rooting for the Mitwit to win in NV- evidently he stands a good chance of doing so- and for Huckabee in SC. The latest polls show McCain leading in SC by just a few points, with Huckabee on his heels. Unfortunately I can't cheer on Gramps because he's in the single digits.

Rudy is done. To a turn. Gramps is done too; I expect him to drop out on Sunday or Monday unless something remarkable happens and comes in first in SC, and that would take a miracle. Paul was never in it. Duncan who? Rudy will stay in until after 2/5 and drop out the next day.

So it will be an ugly dog fight between McCain, Huckabee and Romney.

I can't decide who I want to eventually win, the Huckster or Mitwit, but I do know that I want an ugly extended fight with the winner emerging torn to shreds.

1. We need to tend to our own party
We haven't got anything in the bag yet. We also have a lot of problems of our own.

3. Ridiculous to suggest we shouldn't be discussing repukes here
at DU. Simply because we haven't got anything in the bag and have our own problems, is no reason not to discuss the repukes. This is a a dem discussion board, and one of the major topics is and should be, the repuke party. And compared to the repukes, the dems are in good shape.

2. Maybe Edwards will win Nevada....and then Dems will be in the same boat......
Wouldn't that be "interesting"?

After all of the Dean/Gephart media headlines placed on Hillary/Obama...and the fact that Edwards was introduced as the "only White guy" during the Debates......and he has yet to be fully vetted (like when they find out about the matching fund limitations soon one day --Hillary will let it be known) since he has been largely ignored (so he's now the new guy in town).

Plus when the media starts to report on him (remember, they were supposed to hate him, and be scared of him)..that usually means they want him in the game...cause he's not doing anything different than what he was doing before....but somehow the media as decided to include him once again.
