Congratulations to Obama supporters! (Obama supporters only please)
Congratulations !

I look at the comments here and see all this back and forth about who won what and why.. and I think you are all forgetting the big picture, the true reality: HRC and her camp are "on the ropes". Barack Obama is exceeding all expectations and doing so in a spectacular way.

Think about it for a minute.

HRC went into this all but Crowned Inevitable. She went into this race as part of one of the most powerful political machines known to man.. one that has been running since prior to 1992. (have you thought about that?) And now, she is scrambling to barely hang onto one caucus state and losing the delegate count there. She finished 3rd in Iowa - Barack has yet to finish 3rd and won't finish 3rd anywhere. Even in a tight delegate race, my guess is that Edwards would be hard-pressed to throw his to Clinton. As we saw tonight, when pressed to choose, most of Edwards' supporters will move to Obama.

She has been forced early on to start pulling out every dirty political trick in the book: racism, reverse racism, accusing her opponent of racism; resorting to tears, going for the pity vote, trying on separate personalities; calling on groups to pressure the media into backing off on "critical coverage", trying to convince the media, the other candidates and America that she's been unfairly covered, i.e., using the sexist card while accusing others of using it. I could go on but I won't. Oh, OK, one more: she went on the Tyra Banks show, for the love of Pete! Now she is running up to NYC to try to do damage control in Harlem. The Machine needs oiling, and fast. We see clearly that her other half is coming totally unglued.

It's easy to think that since Obama is fairly new to this rough and tumble level of politicking, that he is a novice. He is smart and perceptive and incredibly motivating. He has attracted the support of some of the most savvy advisors and seasoned politicians in Washington and from around the country. He does know what he is doing.

But most of all, look at the crowds. Look at the level of support and enthusiasm and hope he brings to every town and suburb and city. Look at the newest generation of voters - those who have heretofore felt unmotivated and apathetic, as if nothing they could do mattered. They are now rallying, as are tens of thousands of us who long-since gave up on this process. This is America, rallying behind Change; rallying behind an end to the divisive politics and business-as-usual. This is America, rallying behind Barack Obama.

Don't get sucked into the morass of day-to-day badgery here on DU. Allow yourselves to see the big picture of what Obama has done, what Obama is doing and what he will do in days to come. Be prepared for anything, but realize that he is prepared as well.

There are only good things yet to come ! :hi: :woohoo:

5. Thanks for proving my point in the OP. On. The. Ropes. Pretty desperate if
you can't even let the Obama supporters have one thread, even when asked nicely. But typical and expected.

7. Here is some mojo that the Clinton legacy left us

And as far as Hillary campaign, first she votes for the war in Iraq, going as far as taking a trip with mccain, and coming back telling us with a straight face how much progress we have made, then telling us she was misled about Iraq which is why she voted for the IWR, and before we could blink an eye voted for the Kyle/Lieberman amendment

Yeah, I really trust her on Iraq, NOT

I'll bet you dollars to donuts that if mccain is the repug nominee, and is the Democratic nominee, she will triangulate her position again how we can't rush to pull troops out of Iraq

However, if my hypothetical proves wrong, as she is the nominee, and distinguishes herself from the republican nominee by saying we MUST get out of Iraq within a year, then I appologize

6. My friend, I doubt they are on the ropes, but I do believe they were not expecting any resistence
I also agree with you that the whole propaganda six months ago was that Hillary was the ASSuMEd candidate

That obviously not the case

In addition, super delegates throws a huge fly in the ointment

February 5 will be very interesting

All I know is that whoever OUR nominee is, if they DO NOT distinguish themselves from the repug counterpart on Iraq, they will not get my support

14. Checking in! K&R too.
I THINK he can do it, and I hope he does but I'm going to try and stay away from the senseless bashing posts about ANY candidate from now on. It's difficult to do because so many from one camp are spreading so many lies, faux outrage, etc., but I am hoping to help those threads sink. I also see them, although a lesser quantity, from the Obama-backers, and I'd like to think we're better than that.

The one sad thing IS that the Clinton camp has had to resort to dirty tricks, and I'm sure we don't know all of them. Things that in earlier years, we would have blamed on the repukes - well, nowadays I can't be so sure, and I find that sad. I was never crazy about my senator, Hillary, but I was really fond of Bill until recently. I honestly feel bad about that - he was someone I respected, and I no longer do.

I see a much better future for us with Obama, if only because he would have more of the country behind him, although I don't think that's all he would do. He doesn't just want to be President, he wants to be a "great" President - he wants more transparency in government, and he wants the American people to be involved. I want him to get that chance.

Here's a bit of insight I had today that I would like to share with all Obama supporters.

"Frustrated to a Fault" On Strength and Weakness.
