Infighting = Wasted Energy. Do something Constructive.
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 10:54 AM by 48percenter
I see so much wasted energy on the boards these days. Instead of Dem candidate bashing, why don't we start acting like the smart people we are and figure out how to
DEFEAT McLame, Romney or Huckabee? Or if you really think Giuliani has a shot, or Freddie, give it a go.

Here's your assignment DUers, come up with one GOOD reason(s) for each candidate re: WHY WE CAN BEAT THEM.

I'll go first:

1. John McCain: TOO OLD, he'll be 72 when he gets into office, likely his VP will become president by succession. A MAJORITY of Americans are AGAINST THIS ILLEGAL WAR, McLame loves the surge and wants to stay in Iraq for 100 years. He is going to regret those statements should he be the nominee in November.

2. Mitt Romney: TOO wishy-washy on the issues, not really sure what he believes in, won't take a stand. We HAVE an MBA Prez (from Harvard nonetheless) we don't need another one. Romney's FP knowledge and experience is abysmal.

3. Mike Huckabee: (He's the one that scares me the most, he's a southerner and a former Governor.) BUT he's said some really whacky things lately, amend the constitution to fit to God's standards. www.thinkprogress.org/2008/01/15/huckabee-amend-the-constitution-to-gods-standards/ FORGET about pro-choice, and say hello to EXTREME RIGHT WING Supreme Court nominees.

What say ye? :hi:

1. 1-3: They are all running for Chimpy's Third Term.
And America ain't buying that shit.

If you look at the election maps:

The Dems have to make up 18 electoral votes from 2004. The pukes had 286 to the Dems 252. All we have to pick up is 18.

Any combination coming to 18 more will work. The 18 could come from these states: IA-7, OH-20, VA-13, MT-3, WV-5, MO-11, ND-3, NE-5, NM-5, CO-9.

Each of these states made Democratic gains in the Senate and/or Governorship in 2006.

Voter turnout, so far, in the Primaries has favored the Dems by nearly 2:1.

And, Republican's suck ass.

BTW, thanks for this post. It is a much better use of energy.

2. thanks!
but apparently people would rather fight. Makes me wonder how many people are really DUers on this board or if we have an outside infestation that needs to be taken care of?

3. I wonder, too.
I have to sift through a lot of petty he said/she said posts to get to substance.

Honestly, I am just looking forward to having a single Nominee we can all rally behind.
