The endorsement came during the ADC’s annual conference.
More than 700 conference members packed the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham where Clinton gave the keynote address before receiving the endorsement.
ADC Chairman Joe Reed has a longtime relationship with Clinton and led the support for Hillary in the ADC vote.
Reed strongly believes Clinton is the future of the Democratic Party even referring to her as the “next president of the United States.”
“We’re hungry for victory, and by we, I mean Democrats, black ones and white ones,” Reed said. “I think Hillary has the best chance at victory.
ADC is one of the oldest and most powerful black organizations in the nation and its endorsement serves as a strong predictor of who will receive the Democratic Party’s nomination.
“I consider our endorsement process as the first caucus in the nation,” said Reed, “The candidate that wins the ADC endorsement will go a long way to ensure a primary victory not only in Alabama, but in other states as well.”
