For Senator Clinton: You are a huge supporter of DC voting rights. Thank you for being on the right side of that issue. What I would like to know is, if elected President, what do you think you can do on a substantive level, to make DC voting rights a reality? Your husband did many symbolic things (like having the "no taxation without representation" license plates put on the presidential limo). What do you think a President can do substantively, to bring DC voting rights into reality?
For Senator Obama: What did you mean, when you told Tavis Smiley that "there's no doubt that if we consolidate the Black vote, this would be a different race." Are you truly suggesting that we in the African-American community simply get behind you, just because you are African-American? What did your wife mean when she said she was convinced that we in the African-American community would eventually "wake up and get it." Is she suggesting that any African-American (such as myself) who doesn't support your candidacy, doesn't "get it."
For Senator Edwards: Do you truly understand the issue of DC voting rights? During the 2004 presidential primary, there were nine democrats running for President. Five of those Democrats (including yourself) wrote to the DC Board of Elections and Ethics and asked to have your name removed from the ballot, because DC was trying to spotlight the lack of representation in Congress, by holding a non-binding presidential primary before Iowa and New Hampshire. Do you believe you were putting tradition (Iowa and New Hampshire always go first) before the interests of DC residents who deserve a vote in Congress?
