1. You may be SHOCKED to find out that she hasn't even had a delegate victory yet
She tied Obama in NH and lost to him in NV.

Amazing!

3. My understanding is that Obama leads Clinton on elected delegates, but that
Edited on Tue Jan-22-08 08:35 PM by hedgehog
she leads him on super delegates and on the overall delegate count.

Here's CNN's count:

7. And if Obama wins, the superdelegates better throw their support to him
to do otherwise would be a failure to represent their respective constituencys.

10. Clinton only got about 170 of the superdelegates out of 800-something
That really blows. The Democratic Party just doesn't like her it seems.

19. Various Democratic party officials and office holders
are delegates automatically because of their office. Thus, both Obama and Clinton are delegates, but John Edwards isn't. Some super delegates have come out for various candidates, but as far as I know they can change their minds or remain uncommitted right up to the first vote at the convention.

Some people call it an undemocratic intrusion into the nominating process; others call it a safety device to ensure we select a good candidate.

20. All members of the Seante, House and I think some state positions
and some members of the DNC. About 20% (from post written - so take with grain of salt) of all delegates are superdelegates.

The CNN total reflects those who have endorsed some one.

5. Actually, Obama is beating Hillary badly in delegates!
He's got 2 more than her now, and is expected to pick up even more after South Carolina.

Sorry to disappoint you.

15. The only inconvenient fact is that the super delegates don't count yet
and are never counted this early, because they can change their allegiance at any time.
