Have we talked about HILLARY'S NEW RADIO AD??
Sorry, I really don't know ~ haven't been around much today.

Just heard the ad she's running about Obama and the ideas of the Republican party in the last few years. Well, the Clintons are known for playing hardball ~ I guess Barack will be more careful from now on about what he says when trying to get a conservative endorsement.

1. I listened to the ad online and it is very fair

They quote Obama directly using his own voice and play exactly what he said about republicans in the ad.

2. Or Hillary could run an honest campaign and not distort other candidate's statements...
Just a thought.

9. I wish he'd worry about uniting with Dems more...
He'd do well to mend fences with gays, boomers, etc. ~ hope he figures that out soon.

14. HRC might want to consider that herself.
As it stands, if she gets the nomination - I won't be voting for her.

15. I'm leaning Edwards because he seems to be responding to the base...
My second choice will depend on which of the others take their policy cues from Dem voters ~ pandering to Republicans won't fly.

4. This is what they forgot to put in the ad
quoted fm cnn

Hillary Clinton (in Brokaw book): When he had those big tax cuts and they went too far, he oversaw the largest tax increase. He could call the Soviet Union the Evil Empire and then negotiate arms-control agreements. He played the balance and the music beautifully.

And here’s Bill Clinton in 1998 at the dedication of the Reagan Building in Washington, D.C.:

Bill Clinton (May 5, 1998): The only thing that could make this day more special is if President Reagan could be here himself. But if you look at this atrium, I think we feel the essence of his presence: his unflagging optimism, his proud patriotism, his unabashed faith in the American people. I think every American who walks through this incredible space and lifts his or her eyes to the sky will feel that.

We’ll leave it to others to decide who's praising Reagan more. The fact is that Bill and Hillary have done it, not just Obama

5. Obama wasn't trying to get
a Republican endorsement. He was trying to explain a sophisticated concept that was too much for his audience to absorb and a not-to-be missed opportunity for smearing him by the Clintons.

He'll learn. And if he survives the Clintons, and actually gets the nomination, nothing the more ham-handed Republicans can throw at him will be able to touch him. The Republicans are crude in comparison to the Clintons. They've actually written the book.

7. I guess it was the Reagan remark that came out...
...during the endorsement meeting. Still, he's gonna have to be a lot more careful now that he knows what he's up against. Yes, he'll learn ~ hope he keeps his cool.

12. The Republicans never have an original idea. Ever.
They just copy us. As I pointed out to someone in another thread, the "flip flop" meme they used against Kerry came from a rival using it against him in the primary. If Obama gets the nom, the pukes will throw those "present votes" at him with a vengeance. Plus the drug use.

Clinton's idiotic Southern Strategy will be used against her in the general. The repukes will target Hispanics and discourage black voters, using the very divide and conquer tactics Billary are using to win the primary.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=mbaszmcpesc Obama: GOP is the party of ideas for the last 10-15 years

that will be used in numerous ads by the Repubs in the GE against the whoever win the Dem primary.

Thanks Obama!

6. No, because my state apparently counts for nothing
I live in Washington (originally from Michigan) and the candidates have not run anything here. We already know how much they cared about Michigan. Not a problem; I'm entirely comfortable with putting the fate of the world in the hands of squabbling casino workers in Vegas.

8. Is it on progressive radio?
Because otherwise I can't see how it will resonate with mainstream Dem voters, many of whom (like it or not) have a favorable view of Reagan. He's not called "St. Ronnie" around these parts for nothing. I could be wrong though, maybe there's more latent Raygun hatred out there than I estimated. I imagine she's focus-grouped the hell out of it.

Saw it on msnbc ~ but it talks about the debt we're in because of Republicans. That should resonate now that the economy is in the toilet.
