Dear Obama...
Edited on Wed Jan-23-08 03:46 PM by CC
If former President Clinton is upsetting you are you really ready for what the republicans will do in the general election?
Just listened to a bit of primary coverage and all about how frustrated Obama is or may be on Bill's talking and how Hillary's radio ad is dirty politics, etc. I am not favoring either one and would say the same to Hillary, Edwards and every one else running and their supporters. This is nothing compared to what the repukes will be digging up, twisting and throwing at you in the general election. Learn from it now and be ready or get out. Any Democrat in the general election is going to have to be careful of how their words can be twisted and used against them. They will have to be able to sound natural while being sure they word things best they can to not be used and be ready to hit back forcibly and calmly to everything repukes and their followers throw at them.

1. As I mentioned
on another thread -- The Republicans couldn't possibly do anything worse to Obama than what the Clintons are capable of. If Obama survives to the nomination, it'll be a cakewalk to dodge the crude Republican spit balls. Truly, continuing to say this is nothing compared to what the Republicans will try with Obama is giving the Republicans too much credit.

There is no point to low for them to go.

8. Sorry, but I strongly disagree with you.
The Clintons are a piece of cake compared to the mighty GOP spin machine. The GOP is nothing if not devious. They will throw the book at Barack. They will mop the floor with him. They will call him a traitor, a Muslim, a crook, a bigot, you name it.

The Swiftboating of John Kerry will be minor in comparison.

Barack has no idea what will be thrown at him if he's the nominee, and I don't think he'll be able to handle it, based on what I've seen so far.

Hillary Clinton and John Edwards stand a much better chance of backing down the GOP in the general election.

6. Like Kerry you should just chill out when others say things about you that you think are untrue.
Don't respond. Don't get frustrated. Let it go. Chill out.

Be calm and hit back forcibly. Say what? That's what your WalMart charge was meant to be. I guess that's OK then, but you have to ready for the next thing and the next and the next.

Don't relax. I mean relax, but not too much. No more phrases like "fairy tale" or the whole "MLK/LBJ" thing. They just get twisted out of shape. You have to be more careful, but stay on the attack. Don't let the other side take the initiative, but don't be too aggressive either.

Confused, my man. So am I. Let's give Karl a call. ;)

9. I would never suggest he ignore
something and let it go like Kerry did. There is a smart way to do things though and it was one of Obama's spoke people I was listening too before I wrote it no a Clinton person. I tried to weed out the talking heads too since they are running with it.

10. And if Obama is upset about what Clinton said before, wait until he hears what's going on now.
And let's not forget Obama chose to go all negative against Hillary first.
