All-male MSNBC panel laughed as Barnicle compared Clinton to "first wife outside probate court"
Media Matters for America: All-male Morning Joe panel laughed as Barnicle compared Clinton to "everyone's first wife standing outside a probate court"

On the January 23 edition of MSNBC's Morning Joe, during a discussion of the January 21 Democratic presidential candidates debate with an all-male panel that included co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Willie Geist, and guest co-host David Shuster, political and social commentator Mike Barnicle said of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY): "when she reacts the way she reacts to Obama with just the look, the look toward him, looking like everyone's first wife standing outside a probate court, OK? Looking at him that way, all I could think of ... was this fall, if it's McCain that she's facing, McCain is likable. She's not." All three MSNBC co-hosts laughed at Barnicle's comparison of Clinton to "everyone's first wife standing outside a probate court," with Scarborough interrupting Barnicle by laughing loudly before saying, "I'm sorry. Go ahead."

Has MSNBC still not learned the lesson of the Tweety Effect?

5. It's amazing how some Obamiacs
give a pass on blatantly sexist remarks but try to paint any criticism of Saint Obama as racist.

6. Bringing up "McCain" and "first wife" in the same sentence is likely to backfire:
http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2007/09/01/mccain/

"McCain was still married and living with his wife in 1979 while, according to The New York Times' Nicholas Kristof, "aggressively courting a 25-year-old woman who was as beautiful as she was rich." McCain divorced his wife, who had raised their three children while he was imprisoned in Vietnam, then launched his political career with his new wife's family money."

9. Why is Mike Barnicle allowed on TV?
The guy is a plagiarist and a fool.

I'm pretty much a guy's guy and I don't find that funny at all.

10. I can see why he would say that. I even noted during that debate
that she would remind men of their ex-wives. Her demeanor was very condescending and aggressive the other night. Not good.

14. Excuse me?????? Who the Hell Do They Think They Are????????
Edited on Wed Jan-23-08 08:11 PM by calimary
You know, all things being equal, this kind of crap is pushing me more solidly toward Hillary Clinton. I WAS still undecided (because MY candidate, Al Gore, isn't running). But I'm starting to lean hard toward Hillary just because of shit like this. And btw, she hasn't choked up on the heels of this, either.

FUCK THEM!!!!

How Fucking DEMEANING!!! God, the sexism!!!! And Mr. Dead Intern laughs hysterically and then catches his breath and says "I'm sorry. Go ahead." WTF????? "I'm sorry"??? Yeah, like that excuses it, joe you sexist schmuck!

As I write this, Hardbowels is on. And Tweety's talking about Bill Clinton, and he was almost wheezing, and slobbering, and veritably sucking up flying saliva between words. The putz!!!

Ordinarily, I must admit, I tend to like Mike Barnicle, but this just bites. Arrogant, insulting, and a cheap shot for a cheap laugh. How DARE he!?!?!?! What, is he pissed about how HIS first wife took him to the cleaners or something? Sour grapes 'cause your ex is smarter and schrewder and richer than you or got a better divorce lawyer than you did, barnicle? Oh yeah, that's funny alright. Fucking hilarious. :grr:

on edit - sorry for the language, most of which I cleaned up. I musta been angry or something.
