Obama polarizes SC..Obama 38..Clinton 30
http://www.mcclatchydc.com/homepage/story/25383.html

"Barack Obama leads Hillary Clinton in South Carolina, where their increasingly bitter rivalry has opened a deep racial divide among Democrats days before the party's first primary in the South on Saturday, according to a new McClatchy-MSNBC poll.

African-Americans in South Carolina break solidly for Obama, with 59 percent supporting the Illinois senator, 25 percent behind New York Sen. Clinton, 4 percent for former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards and 12 percent undecided.

White voters see the primary from the opposite direction: 40 percent support Edwards, 36 percent back Clinton, 10 percent are behind Obama and 14 percent are undecided.

"It's still a racially divided state," said J. Brad Coker, the managing partner of Mason Dixon Polling & Research, which conducted the survey.

With African-Americans expected to dominate the voting, their strong support gave Obama the overall edge".

4. So, in South Carolina, where the Confederate battle flag is displayed in front
of the State House, it took Obama to polarize voters?......

14. Completely agree. Obama is a uniter not a divider.
As soon as he gets out of the South.

20. Has always been a "uniter" always will be a "uniter" unlike Hillary who automatically
divides by just being her.

16. There really is a big problem here but when you try to discuss it

the obama supporter just attack you.

Obama is having problems connecting with White America, There i've said it. He is not polling anywhere high in white votes in the last 3 primaries. SC if that 11% is correct, its abysmal for him. Clinton and Edwards take a massive share.

Clinton, if Obama was not in the race would still take Black America by a mile, she still has a very high favourability rating amongst black communities but i'm really suspecting the opposite is not true. Is it possible the level of racism in America is still way higher than we believe it to be? Are people really ready for a black President? I have to ask myself this?.

How can you unify when you cannot get a majority of the white vote. Its a blow to his unity platform.

I have a feeling SC is not as progressive as we gave it credit for. I think we may have a huge white vote coming out on Saturday.

Are they possibly annoyed that no real coverage has been given to white voters in the state, do they feel ignored by it?. Ronald Martin had a piece on CNN yesterday, A black commentator basically saying,do not ignore the white voters of SC, it will stir a hornets nest of trouble.

Seriously guys what do you all think?

19. The guy who won lily-white Iowa has "problems connecting with White America"?
To quote Jeff Goldblum from Jurassic Park:

"That is one big pile of shit."

25. He did in Iowa
No reason he couldn't do in other states. One problem is that the race then became much more polarized based on race - and IMO that's both Clinton & Obama's fault.
