New York Times to Endorse Hillary Clinton For President

New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger, Jr., has decided to endorse Hillary Clinton for president, Radar has learned. The editorial expressing that view is scheduled to appear this weekend.

Reached at his office, Times editorial page editor Andy Rosenthal was asked if the paper would be endorsing a white person or a black person for president. “Yes,” he replied. He refused any further comment. …

29. Not an insult
Edited on Thu Jan-24-08 08:05 PM by lapfog_1
the poster was saying that if the NYT endorses Hillary, Obama supporters think it's a rag and not worth the ink used to print it.

I'm just pointing out the obvious, if someone endorses Obama, there are a lot of posts here from Hillary supporters saying things like "well they aren't real leaders or That paper is a rag"

Goes both ways.

Just the facts of life here in primary land.

Course, some of you folks in Camp Hillary don't seem to understand the obvious. It's kinda like you are dense or something.

I think there was even a recent news article about this phenomenon (education levels of the supporters for the various candidates).. but if that goes over your head... I'll understand.

(BTW, just so you know, THIS is an insult)

When people talk about who interjected race into the campaign, for some reason the NYT gets a pass, but they were the worst offender of all.

39. Big shock there.
:eyes: I imagine their rationale will be similar to their FUBARed logic when they endorsed her against Tasini in the last NY senate primary. The argument goes that the underdog has great ideas, but is too idealistic to fit in with the rest of his prospective colleagues.

After acknowledging that “Almost every move Mrs. Clinton has made regarding Iraq reflected her desire to find — or create — a center position on every issue,” and criticizing “her unwillingness to risk political capital for principle,” the Times got to the heart of the problem with Tasini, the “politically impractical candidate from the left.”

“Mr. Tasini deserves credit for making the run and we are sorry that Mrs. Clinton did not respond to his demands for a debate. But it is hard to imagine him working well in a large body of egotistic and generally conservative politicians.”

Amazing, isn’t it? Tasini shouldn’t be a senator, because he isn’t enough of an asshole. He wouldn’t fit in with the unethical blowhards he’d be rubbing elbows with in Washington. This is the best the editorial board of the most prominent newspaper in the world can come up with when challenged to support Clinton’s reelection in a reasonable manner—she blends well with the rest of the global gangbang posse in the American legislature.

I'm sure their endorsement of Clinton this time will run along similar lines.

Big business votes their interests and wields influence to support their interests over those of the people.

Shocking.

Truly shocking

If they thought a repuke could win they'd support the most repuklican among them.

This should be seen as yet another condemnation of our most Wrong Wing Candidate.

Who is more Wrong Wing than Clinton? Out of all of the original Dem candidates? Who?

Exactly.
