Hillary and Obama have proved already that they can not be in same room for more than 10 minutes without killing each other. Both Hillary and Obama each in their own right are polarizing figures with an algorithm when positioned together that would take votes away from the Dem party, not bring them in.

What is really going to happen is that the two candidates will continue their obsession with each other's jugulars.

There is some merit to a pair, both of which would be firsts, running on change. Hillary, being the chameleon she is (or isn't, depending on the light and surroundings...) could embrace change. Only because she sees it as a means to promote herself, but that is all she is about anyway.

Hillary hasn't even really begun her national campaign and already so many hate her. I don't think she'll win the nom no matter what happened in a couple of places or what the polls say.

At least I'm hoping she doesn't anyways but if she does her and Obama do not play well together.

for each of them. Both are ruthless and ambitious, prerequisites for the presidency. if Hillary and Obama think they can help themselves by helping the other, they can find a way to put their personal issues aside. Obama will accept the second spot if he thinks Hillary can win and will then help him succeed her. She will if he makes it worth her while.

I just took a poll today about the candidates. Their positions on all the important issues are the same. There is no ideological difference between them. the only real question is if Clinton/Obama is the strongest team. Both have already promised to support the party's nominee.

The other more troublesome issue is that racism is not dead in the US just yet. While Obama is acceptable to the majority of the white population now, I wonder just how big that majority is. I raise this issue because of the racial split I am seeing in SC where Obama is pulling only 10% of the white vote. Not sure if Edwards, with 40% of the white vote is hurting Obama or Hillary more there.
