Local NBC affliate, KWQC, channel 6, out of Davenport, Iowa, is airing a report and a video of hotel rooms trashed by workers of the Clinton campaign. The video highlighted piles of trash, holes in the walls and soiled and tore carpeting. The elderly, avuncular, hotel manager is quoted on the video as saying if this is the way a campaign is managed how well would the White House be managed.

The Clinton campaign has offered to pay 75% of the damages and is refusing to talk with local media about the damages. Look for this video to be picked up by national television and for this news to be gleefully broadcast by right-wing hate radio. It will predictably be linked to the baseless and debunked charges of Bill Clinton's White House staffers trashing their offices before the current dimwit took office.

In light of the foodfight that has broken out between our top two canidates, news like this is not helpful to the Democratic ticket in November. I would urge the Clinton campaign to quickly put this to rest. They will not be the only Democrats to suffer from this video clip.

I can not find any links, but I am fairly certain that the story of vandalism by Clinton staffers in the last days of Clinton's administration was totally debunked or wildly overblown by Bush Administration officials intent on sullying the record of President Clinton.

The video about the hotel room in Iowa seems credible and considering the shock Clinton staffers must have felt after coming in third along with the rush to get to New Hampshire the mess is understandable. Unacceptable but understandable. And this is exactly why it is important for this to be put to rest quickly. Not just for Senator Clinton's sake but for the reputation of our party in general.
