You posted a thread without the word "Obama" in it. It's a dupe, but still! Rec for personal growth.

36. like Al Gore? like John Kerry?
And Obama is going to be a true progressive?
Or Edwards, with his conservative Senate record?

Oh, you mean Kucinich! Yes. It's a tragedy Kucinich lost, and
a capable, intelligent candidate who lives in the real world
might be our president.

40. I'm talking about the fact that the Right Wing can't wait to run against her
The establishment media have been pushing her from the start. They're starting to like Obama as they realize that he'll likely be a hard-core capitulator, but they're still deathly afraid of Edwards.

If you want to find out who the MSM/RW are really afraid of, you look at who they're ignoring, not who they're talking about.

17. the only parts of that piece of crap that I still read is Krugman
and and the business section - the editorial board is so schizophrenic - denouncing the Dimson administration for the war that they (the editorial board) of the NewWhoreTimes helped and coaxed into being with the use of the neo-con wetdream Judith Miller - who they just loved and gave the top half of the Sunday pages to willingly to LIE and LIE and LIE while they turned a blind editorial eye to the truth.

I am so sorry for you to be excited for your chosen candidate to be associated with this disreputable and thoroughly discredited rag.

I do so hope that you get over your disappointment that you are attempting to color as "good news".

best to you!

The potential upside of a great Obama presidency is enticing, but this country faces huge problems, and will no doubt be facing more that we can’t foresee. The next president needs to start immediately on challenges that will require concrete solutions, resolve, and the ability to make government work. Mrs. Clinton is more qualified, right now, to be president.

We know that she is capable of both uniting and leading. We saw her going town by town through New York in 2000, including places where Clinton-bashing was a popular sport. She won over skeptical voters and then delivered on her promises and handily won re-election in 2006.

Essentialy, you can hope all you like but the US is in big fucking trouble. So hoping it will be fixed aint gonna cut it.

22. Theor dismissive condesencion towards Edwards reflects their biases
How cute and entertaining Edwards "raw populist" has been. But on to the real candidates, who won't really change much in the scheme of things.

And pushing for trade policies that make sense for America is not "trying to stop globalization."

27. If that was the case, then why did they crucify Rudy Gullinini?
No, the NYT endorses who they feel is the best for the future of the country. They don't endorse someone just because they're from NY State.

24. Such arrogance will do wonders at mending The Party? Oh, not "The Party" but "The Clintons" that
matter to them. It's all about them and their arrogant sense of entitlement. :puke:

After all their (and their shameless adorers') Atwater-type smear and whisper campaigns, I'd rather low crawl over broken glass than cast another vote for EITHER Bill or Hillary Clinton.

Please note in advance, IF The Clintons are anointed for a 3rd DLC Executive Branch Term, I'm writing in Kucinich. In other words, it will mark the 100% take over of our Democratic Party by The DLC. :(

37. The perfect corporatist battle - Clinton-McCain
Leaving aside NY itself, of course they are salivating over the idea of Clinton facing McCain. Isn't that the best chance they have for winning in Nov.? Let's not kid ourselves. An independent paper (are there any left?) might look at the issues, but the NYT has to defend the status quo. Whether they view her as the weakest candidate in the general election or just figure she won't rock the boat too much, who knows? But the end result is the same.

39. Thank you New York Times!!!!
I bought the paper this morning just to show my support.

Hillary IS the best choice and she will work as hard as president as she has worked as senator.

P.S. I hope that Maureen Dowd's head exploded when she heard the news of her paper's decision to endorse Hillary!!!
