Clinton whalloping Obama in Massachussets Primary 59% to 22%

New poll

Clinton 59% Obama 22% Edwards 11%

Totally crushed, the Kerry endorsement has not worked at all there. She went up since the last poll 10 days ago, with 121 delegates at stake, thats a massive win.

Its also significant because the latest head to head polls have Obama losing Mass by 5 to McCain and Clinton winning Mass by 5 over MCcain. There is major resistance to Obama in Mass for some reason.

So with NY (280) and Massachussets (121) and NJ (127) and California (441) most likely definitively under her belt at the present time, i am finding it hard to see how Obama can come through Super Tuesday.

2. That's sad to hear
Hillary in the WH would ALWAYS remind everyone of Bill's philandering. On that fact alone she will be hammered by the right and she should just stay in the Senate. I'm not in the mood for 4 to 8 more years of late-night Clenis jokes, and more Clinton-based hate-radio garbage. It sux thinking about it. More dynasty crap.

5. I have decided many of these polls
are full of shit. Massachusetts really is different than many other states. Long established liberal thinking, combined with a lot of major colleges and higher institutions pave the way for (often) radical thinking. Here, even in the barrooms, political thinking is prominent among blue-collar workers--it's why Cheers was so popular!

I don't really think that HRC is that high in comparison to Obama, but with all MSM focusing on HRC and BO, the regular blue-collar workers are pondering JE and thinking seriously. If the "independent spirit" of politics in the past is an indicator, I think it will be a neck-to-neck contest for the top three. I know I have already decided I need to get out and vote, even if there is a swarm of locusts or a freak tornado, or some other major calamity that day. And I know a lot of other people feel the same way. It was a badge of honor when I was 18 to get the vote, even though I was forced to wait two years to vote for the president. But the thinking that won McGovern a victory solely in Massachusetts is still in force--however much the newspapers promote one person or one idea, the populace is still stubborn enough to think for themselves, and that's a good thing.

6. she's also doing well in Pennsylvania (188) 40% to 20%
for Barack.

As for the delegate count, it matters less on the popular win and more on the Districts in the States she wins.

So I suspect that although she'll do very, very well on Super Tuesday delegate-wise as well as Popular Win-wise, it may take until the March Primaries -- Ohio, Rhode Island, Texas, Vermont, Wyoming, Mississippi -- before she clinches the necessary count (she leads Ohio -- 161 delegates -- 45% to Barack's 19% and Texas -- 228 delegates -- 46% to Barack's 28%) with April 22nd's Pennsylvania Primary being the coup de grace.

7. McCain wouldn't win against any of the Dem candidates in MA, despite what your poll says
I've lived here my entire life, and I know my state. If there is a quality Dem nominee (and any of them would be that), Mass will vote for him or her over the repuke.

8. I think it's Deval Patrick backlash. They have similar messages
(I believe they both used the same speechwriter?) but Patrick has not been able to accomplish much since elected. Inspiration is nice but results are better.

I'm not saying that Patrick is disliked, I think he's polling around 52% but because of the Legislature he hasn't been able to get much done.

I applaud Patrick for his efforts at shutting down the amendment to define marriage but MA is hurting economically and contrary to the Romney-as-economic-genius myth, MA had one of the lowest rates of job growth while he was governor. Towns and cities were getting squeezed when Romney was governor and the situation has not improved under Patrick.

9. I actually agee with you-- You may have just hit on some of why I am not an Obama supporter
They have the same message- Deval is supporting Obama. "Together we can" has turned into "Yes we can"

I cried when Deval was elected- I was so proud and full of hope for the future. Since then I haven't seen him accomplish much, nothing has really improved, nor does it seem like he is really fighting to change things. Lots of flowery words about hope and change. Those words don't mean shit if you can't get the job done.

That's how I feel about Obama- nice flowery words, but I haven't seen anything that point him to being able to deliver once elected.

I am still hoping that Deval will deliver in the coming years, right now I am feeling a bit let down.

11. I think that is exactly what is occurring if Sal Dimasi can stop a guy
who got 1.8 million votes you can like the guy who got 1.8 million votes but he hasn't shown any willingness to take on fight the entrenced interest that is Sal DiMasi - cuts right at the heart of Obama's message.

Edwards' message of fighting for change works as well as Hillary's which is I know how to work these pols.

Obama's and Deval's method does not work in practise and MA voters are seeing that up close.

12. If Romney hadn't left us with a $1.3 billion deficit, he would have been able to deliver a lot more
Remember, that deficit was revealed just days before Patrick was inaugurated. He made his campaign promises based on the version of the state's books that were public, not on the real books, which Romney kept hidden until the last minute.

Gawd, I hate Mittens!
