This Rezko thing means Obama needs to drop out now
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 12:38 PM by Gman
The Rezko thing is as bad as Giulianni's having the city tote his girlfriend around on the city's nickel. Obama has known all along the Rezko thing is hanging out there but he never even tried to preemptively inoculate his self by coming clean. Now Obama tries rather ridiculously to tie the Clinton's in with Rezko. That reeks of desperation and a complete failure to admit to him self that this is a very serious problem.

If Obama cares at all about his own political future, much less the welfare of the country and the world, the best thing he can do is drop out now and keep the personal damage to him to a minimum. If he's unfortunate enough to be the nominee in November, Rezko will be wrapped around his neck so tightly by the swiftboating GOP that he will have no chance of beating any Republic.

Just as important, if Rezko has been lurking in Obama's background, just what else is there that we need to know?

7. Why is everyone suddenly in agreement
that Rezko is the Antichrist? He's about as bad as I suspect all big businessmen to be. Has any politician ever been elected without taking money at least as dirty as his? He hasn't even been convicted yet, and, though I'm sure he's guilty, he has a good chance of walking.

This whole episode has a real stink of Jew-baiting about it. Yes, I know he's a Syrian Christian. But do the voters?

10. I think the problem is that it makes Obama look like "Duke" Cunningham.
And Cunningham's in prison for the games he played with his "businessmen", some of which, like Obama, included profiting from shady real estate deals.

17. I could care less who or what Rezko amounts to....
when Hillary slimes Obama's connection to the guy she and hubby are flanking in the picture above.

Just a thought...

There maybe more than just explaining and apologizing due here, I think of some her campaign purse should be expunged in the interest of, I don't know, not being seen as a KKKarl Rove type.

adult life, and have always thought DU was a LEFT-wing site. Are saying I shouldn't be here? Or just asking me to leave, because I'm not ashamed of being ashamed of supporting my candidate, as I was told be a now tombstoned poster?

18. How Do We Know He's Not a Drug Dealer?
Actually, it was the Today show that tied Clinton to Rezko. And it was the Clintons who tied themselves to all these people.

"We like your president very much. We would like to see him reelect (sic). I will give you 300,000 U.S. dollars. You can give it to the president and the Democrat Party." - Gen. Ji Shengde, then the head of Chinese military intelligence.

just look at the dirt that was dug up by fellow DUer's in minutes after your post. Just think what the Repugs will do with Hillary should she win the nomination.

If all you have on Obama is "this Rezko thing" - I'm putting my money on Obama beating the Repugs in Nov '08.

24. Oh please
Stack that up against all the questionable people in Hillary's past why don't you? Start with some of her recent fundraisers who are now in trouble with the law... and in to her for far more than Rezko ever gave Obama.

ANYONE you want to look at will have questionable alliances, friends, history. There is dirt to be found about anyone if you look hard enough, or play it the right way.

This attack is the same stupid stuff that's only going to come back and bite us in the general. It really needs to stop.

26. Nonesense
If a Democrat had to leave a race or an office every time someone alleged something against a Democrat there would always be someone alleging something against them and there would never be a Democrat in office. Obama has to face this down. Nothing more, nothing less.

37. Obama is about as close to squeaky clean as any politician can get.
The reason the Republicans keep pushing Hillary as a candidate is the vat of scandals to delve into. We'll be reliving the Lewinsky days . . . over and over and over and over again. I actually feel a little sorry for Hillary because most of the dirt is on Bill. He seems to be running as the defacto candidate though, so all hell will break loose.

38. How did Obama buy a house for $300K under market value?
When Duke Cunningham gat a deal like that, there was hanky-panky involved.

Isn't there at least the appearance of hank-panky when a freshman senator gets a deal like that from someone he has been taking campaign donations from?

Is that 'squeaky clean?"

Clean, I'll give ya, cause so far as we know, nothing illegal was done.

But "squeaky" clean?

Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 04:50 PM by Gman
You obviously don't listen to Hannity or Rush or any of the other RW nuts. All they ever talk about is how awful the Clintons are and how great and wonderful Obama is. "Incredible", as Hannity would say. Its very clear the RW wants Obama as he's the one they know they can take out in November.

It's been painfully obvious who the RW prefers for over a month. Read what I wrote over a month ago.
