1. I am still technically undecided. I like two candidates, and I will flip a coin unless
something dramatic happens between now and Super Duper Tuesday.

I will do what I will always do on election day, which is ferry geezers who cannot drive or are too afraid to drive where there are a lot of congested vehicles to the polls. I don't discriminate, but it just so happens that most of them are Democrats!

5. Love your Westie.
I have been meaning to comment for some time. Right now I don't have a dog. I lost my last Westie a year ago and have not been in a position to properly train a new pup. I have always had females and love their attitude.

BTW, don't you think that if a terrier could pick the candidate they would want Hillary - she is the same personality type. You know, stubborn and tenacious.

7. Find a Westie RESCUE site in your area.

You can get yourself an older dog that needs a loving home. We got our first Westie from rescue--she was about five or so, and she came from a broken home. She was the most WONDERFUL dog--not that she didn't have a few quirks, but she had a personality that wouldn't quit and was tremendously adaptable. I still miss her. If any dog could talk, she was the one.

We got another, who is also a little ball of fire, but a bit different than our first dog, because we had this one from a pup. As a consequence, she's just a big baby who wants to love everyone.

They're superb watchdogs, too; and they're quite social. And you'll never have any 'varmint' issues if you have a Westie in the house!!!

Here's the site--get yourself a Westie--it's affordable, too, if you're on a limited budget: http://www.westierescue.com/

10. Thanks for the info.
I had no idea that a Westie would ever need to be rescued. I absolutely love the breed and can not imagine one without a home.

Just the other day I spotted a Westie in a car in the parking lot of my grocery store. I was talking to her when the owner came out - I think he thought I was a crazy old woman. I tried to explain that I love Westies and couldn't resist her and he responded in a irritated manner - It's my girlfriend's dog, I like labs.

Again, thanks for the info. I will definitely contact them.

11. We had very good luck with the NE branch up this way
Word to the wise--if they ask you if you have a fenced yard, say YES, even if you don't! They won't give you a dog without one!

We got the dog first, fenced the yard after--but we had plenty of 'duty dog walkers,' so it wasn't quite so key!

3. OK -
The primary in my state is not until May. Therefore, last night I called friends in a Feb 5th primary state. I am flying there mid next week, will stay with friends, and work for Hillary until the 5th. I was going to rent a car but my friend said not to because he decided while talking with me to take off from his work and he would be available to work for Hil as well.

I felt like I was being left out and wanted to get more involved - now I am jazzed.

4. Good for you!
That's awesome.

Wisconsin isn't til after Super Tuesday.

But I know where our Obama HQ is in town.

Sadly, all I've done is point a couple people to it. That is all.

9. Lots of things...
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 03:13 PM by iris5426
Sending money when I can (and probably when I shouldn't for my own finances sake), phonebanking, gathering signatures to get Edwards on the ballot in PA, sent a few letters to various media outlets protesting lack of coverage, and generally talking the ear off of anyone who will listen about how wonderful I think Edwards is :-)

on edit: and this is the first time I've ever given money to any candidate for anything ever...
