Watching the supporters of the the frontrunners, I'm reminded of...
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 02:28 PM by LittleClarkie
My fellow Kerry supporters. The same passion, the same enthusiasm. Some of us are quick to go over the top, flirting with deletion because we feel so strongly for the man and can't understand why people don't see what we see.

Your perception gets kind of warped, I think. Even civil criticism sometimes looks like a bash. Even if your guy isn't getting any more criticism than the other, it looks to you like he's getting dogpiled.

Before I supported anyone, I could see it more clearly. Now my perception is warped, and all I can see is the Obama attacks. But that's my problem. I'm sure, like before, it's still happening on both sides.

But I was thinking today that both sides are just like the Kerry supporters I know so well, almost angry that not everyone can see what a wonderful person their candidate is.

So I can relate.

3. Thank you for a thoughtful post
I will add that I think it imperative that we look closely at the weaknesses of all our candidates-so that we can work together to come up with what we can do to overcome these weaknesses when we talk with the general public. I don't have a dog in this fight-since Kucinich is gone, I don't even know that I'm voting in our primary Feb 5 (which is only for President). But I do want to be ready to talk POSITIVELY about the remaining candidates and have material to REFUTE allegations and misinformation when I talk to friends and neighbors.

5. Positive threads generally do that. I guess they're not as much fun as negative ones
and thanks.

not enough positivity on the board. And that's because positivity sinks like a stone.

7. My turn to K&R
Almost all of us will feel our bonds of Unity again when it is Republcan thuggery we are fighting instead of a Democratic primary campaign

9. Very encouraging
I can relate to this post. Very insightful and encouraging. From a Hillary supporter I think you are spot on with your assessment. We should save the negative criticism for the general election. :}

10. I of course agree. As long as I've been on DU, I thankfully missed
the primary season for Kerry, but I adore the man! And yes, I adore Obama. It's nice to be fired up for a change!

14. it's just the same nonsense as in '04 "he can't win" "she can't win"
except, unfortuanately, now race has been brought into it.
